Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hey Ladies-

I am contemplating booking Azul Sensatori - I have read nothing but amazing reviews - so close to pulling the trigger.

I want a reception indoors so as not to have to deal with the heat.  Is the ballroom in bad shape?  Has anyone been there recently to provide an honest review?  Any thoughts on reconsidering if the wedding will be in Oct/Nov for moving outdoors?

Also, in a lot of the videos, we noticed a ton of wind on the Sky Deck - is it always bad/as bad as it sounds in some of the videos?

Thanks in advance!

@ACJCWed- please check out the official thread:

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/72018-official-azul-sensatori-thread/

There are lots of photos and info to help you with your decision. The ballroom is the standard hotel ballroom. With a little decor, it can be anything you want.

As for the wind, yes, there is always some wind which comes off the ocean. Usually the higher you are, the stronger it feels.

I was married on the Sky Deck and had my reception in the Grand Ballroom on June 6, 2014. It was fairly windy and at one point, I thought my veil was going to fly away. My sister (maid of honor) stepped up close behind and held it down. None of the hurst noticed but told me later they were grateful for the breeze since it was very hot and humid. The day before the wedding we changed the reception from Plaza Zavas to the Grand Ballroom. It had been raining and was very hot and humid. There was also rain in the forecast so we decided not to take a chance. We were very happy with our decision. The wedding coordinators took all of my decoration and moved it to the Ballroom. They strung the lights and lanterns from the ceiling and it was beautiful. Plus, we had a truly private space in a cool, air conditioned room. My guests danced and danced some more. They said it was the best party ever. Here are a few photos of the ballroom plus one of us during the ceremony.

Hi all!

I am working on deciding hours with my photographer. How many hours has everyone booked with their photographer?

Also if the photographer brigs an assistant do you have to pay two vendor fee for the both of them?

@@carrieandsam - great question - I'm trying to figure out the same thing.  What does your wedding timeline look like?  My ceremony is scheduled for 4.  I'd really like to have pictures for the following events:

- bride and groom getting ready

- first look

- ceremony

- family/friends portraits

- first dance / parent dances

- speech/toasts

- some of the partying

Seems like a lot once I think of it.

@@Jennypert Lovely :) Congrats!!!

@@carrieandsam 6 hours is enough but if you want to add more to your package you could. No, you do not need to pay a another vendor fee for the assistant. Your photographer will give you the name(s) of the assistant (s) and they will be registered  at the entrance gate when they come in as your photography team.

Just got a new wedding coordinator, she is not very helpful (Her name is Ivis).

Also will not let me have the rehearsal dinner anywhere BUT Spoon. Has anyone else run into this issue?

Hi Ladies,

I hope you are all well. I took a hiatus because according to fiance I have become a tyrant. We also traveled to Florida for our shower. Will attach a pic. We are all slowly creeping up on our dates. I will be better at responding and giving feedback. Whover said this should be the best time of my life is sadly mistaken. Our guest count went from 43 to 97. I let go of the extra rooms to avoid possibly having to change menu's. Now i am thinking about doing a buffet rather than plated becasue i am afraid plated meal will take forever. Thoughts on this? Still wokring on decorations. Need 12 centerpieces and only found 8. @carriendsam i found them at HomeGoods. Only 8 though. Bummer. How did your samples arrive fromm bloombridal? Have you picked centerpieces?

OOT bags, thank goodness my sister in law has offered to take over that project.

Overall still excited just overwhelmed

Oops forgot to attach picpost-278682-142422272511_thumb.jpgpost-278682-142422273076_thumb.jpg

@@BecomingaRiggio

Just noticed you are from Texas. I am from Tyler, Texas but now reside in Newport Beach, CA

Lovely pics from the shower, looks like you both had fun:)

The samples I received from bloombridal are great. I might use the individual stem roses to create small centerpieces to accent the oversized lamp/candle fixture I want for the centerpieces. I attached the picture below. I would probably do half of the rose steams in the picture just because if I do the same amount then it would cost the same if not more to use the bloom bridal stems.

I'm going down in March so hopefully I will make the final decision after seeing the location.

If anybody has any suggestions I will take them :)

We used our rehearsal dinner as a brunch and held it at Zavas. Not sure if that was why we were allowed to hold it elsewhere (since it was not dinner??).

@Jennypert- Could I please use the 2 photos of the ballroom in the official thread? It is one of the few photos I have seen of the ballroom decorated.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
