Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Just wondering if anyone is or has used a silk flower bouquet ? I know with the always and forever package your bridal bouquet is included , but I really want peonies and that bouquet is 300 dollars ! So I started looking on etsy and you can buy a peony bouquet of silk flowers for 150 dollars, than at least they'll last forever ... but is that tacky ?? Any thoughts on this ??

I know many brides from Europe bring silk or real touch. I was going to do the same and one friend said it was tacky,, then I felt bad thinking if my bridesmaids will think the same :( I think I will do a very small bouquet or single flower(natural). I never used silk or real touch, I have heard it is really nice

I think real touch flowers have come a LONG way from the old school silks that people envision. Most people won't be able to tell at all! I say go with your vision.... And if that means doing them in real touch it's fine! Plus you can use them as centrepieces later because they will still look nice. Just plop them in bloom boxes and voila!

I agree. I wish I had heard of bloom bridal sooner because I probably would have went the fake route too!!!

@@lauralc we were not 100% happy with the El Dorado. We stayed at the Casitas. The service at the Azul was a million times better. We had the honeymoon package at the El Dorado and were told we would get a bucket of champagne, honeymoon breakfast and room decoration. We didn't get any of those items until we reminded our concierge 3 times and we finally got them the night before we left!

I ran out of clean clothes by the time we got there and sent out for laundry. I had to call the bell boy to pick it up 3 times.

During our honeymoon at the El Dorado Cassitas we stayed next door to a travel agent and she was telling us that we get a $150 candlelight dinner credit included in our package. She told us she paid hundreds of dollars less than we did and we were getting ripped off. We talked to the concierge about the candlelight dinner credit. We called our travel agent too and there was nothing she could do. We ended up getting upset when we should have been enjoying out trip. I wish we had never talked to that travel agent! Ignorance is bliss!

I hate to say this but sometimes I wish people should keep their mouthes shut!!!

Just cause she paid less doesn't mean you should have unless you have exact packages and booked on the exact same day, etc. Of course there are variables.

My friend posted on FB yesterday about leaving for my resort on Saturday for a wedding. All of us talked a bit and then her friend posted 'yikes I've been there for a wedding'. I asked what her yikes meant and she said 'we all have our own opinions'. When a freaking bride is posting and it's clear as day keep your bad comments to yourself I say unless you have a legit concern to speak up about. All she'd mention is she thought it was too big. Ticked me off. Thankfully we know lots of people

Who've been to back it up.

Sorry it was disappointing to you.

I'm actually disgusted that a TA would do this. Of COURSE she paid less, travel agents get special rates when travelling themselves and know this. How the hell does she think it was professional or appropriate to discuss pricing and perks with a fellow traveller already on vacation?

I'm sorry that this person affected your amazing wedding week... They had no right- hang on to the awesome memories from your big day and don't sweat the stuff that woulda/coulda happened but didn't.

That's a bummer. I'm so sad you did not enjoy your honeymoon at the El Dorado. I'm kind of hesitant to book it now. I plan to look at the reviews a little more before I move forward. Would you recommend staying at the azul instead of moving to another place?

Has anyone else stayed at a different resort after the azul for a honeymoon that you would recommend?

Thanks for the feedback!

@@calgarybride2015  - All of our guests loved the Azul, I loved it and I am a perfectionist. The girl that posted "yikes, etc" is ridiculously rude!

@@kmk2016 - thank you!  We really loved the Azul. The El Dorado was pretty and had great rooms but I would go back to Azul over and over for their service!

@@lauralc - you may want to move to a different hotel if you and your hubby want some alone time and your guests are planning on staying the same time you are. But I'm sure the Azul will take care of you if you book there. They have the exact same honeymoon package as El Dorado.  There are so many hotels to choose from in Riviera Maya!

Word of warning... If you go to Le Chique, one of the restaurants at the Azul, plan on spending $125/person. We were duped! The front desk told us that it was $25/person. We got 20 people to go. The manager came out from the back and told us he would not seat us unless we paid $125/person. It was ridiculous. We all left and went to the Italian restaurant. If you want to pay $125/person, you can make reservations for Le Chique on Azul's website: http://lechiquerestaurant.com/

For all you Snorkelers! The Azul Sensatori is in Puerto Morelos where there is the 2nd largest reef in the world (1st is in Australia).  For $40/person you or your guests can snorkel. You can arrange snorkeling right in the main lobby. My husband and I had a private snorkeling tour and we loved it!!!

When we went to Le Chique there were two menu options and we had to reserve telling them ahead of time which one we chose. One was a lot less than the other (can't remember if it was $25/$125 though)... In any event we went with the lower priced one and had 8-9 courses (again can't remember)... And it was amazing and well worth the price... They did try and upgrade us to add a wine flight but we politely declined and they never brought it up again. Service was excellent. When we were leaving we looked around to see if we were the only "cheap" ones who booked the lower priced version... And everyone had done the same!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
