We bought white organza. I did ask my WC and they use a poly blend. I was able to find a poly blend at fabric stores in Austin and online but could never find it in the length I needed. It was always too short. I could have sewn them together but didn't have time so we went with the organza. I bought 2 bolts so should make 5-6 sheers and hopefully that should give me the look I'm going for.

thanks! I was looking at the glitter organza, it's a bit more expensive I think but it looks beautiful, and they ship to Canada! Thanks for the website :)

Hi ladies! Just wanted some advice...I wanted to sing a sweet song to my hubby -to -be at our wedding...I wanted to do a sky wedding with reception at zavaz. I originally wanted to sing it walking up the aisle for our ceremony but wasn't sure if the acoustics at the sky deck would be adequate with all the wind? Not sure if there is a good sounds system up there?

Or if not, maybe right before our first dance? We would walk in and I start to sing to him...

Thanks for you all your help !!

Wow... Amazing!

I have to say, the wind wasn't CRAZY on the sky deck either time I was up there during the dress rehearsal weekend. Sure, it will move your veil around, but I didn't notice it to be windy- maybe it was the time of year? (End of may/start of June)... But it wasn't really a factor. The nice thing about doing it up on the sky deck would be the privacy... But if you are having a DJ who will have a full sound system set up at plaza zavaz it may be louder.

There is a large wall on one side of the sky terrace that blocks some of the wind... And would hold the sound I think!

That's such a sweet idea! I was married on the Sky Deck in June. It was quite windy and it kept blowing my veil around. But, there is a very good sound system with microphones. The on site wedding coordinator hooked up my iPod to the sound system and played the music we had programmed for the Gathering, Groom and Bridesmaid entrance, Bride's entrance, etc. I could hear the music very well while I waited in the stair well for my entrance. The music was definitely loud enough during the sand ceremony and I could hear our vows very clearly on the videotape. So, yes, the acoustics are fine.

Hi everyone!

For those getting married at Plaza Zavaz, are you ordering additional lighting? I'm worried it will be too dark after 9pm. Our reception is from 7-11pm.

We saw a reception there at night and it was beautiful and seemed to get enough light. Most people seem to being strung lights for the plaza but say afterward that it was more for aesthetic than function and not really needed.

I think you will be fine!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
