My wedding is right around the corner and I feel like I have not done much..ahhh. I am such a last minute planner but can someone tell me what were your essential items for your OOT bags and the best websites to purchase these items... Thanks!

MMK0386 your pics are gorgeous! I have a question for anyone who used one of the unlimited events cocktail party. They stated that it was only beer, wine & soda, plus a signature drink for the cocktail event. We have qualified for unlimited events & would like to use one of these between our ceremony & reception. I was wondering if anyone has done this - and if guests were able to go to the bar and order a drink of their choice? I think I am confused about it being at a bar area but being informed they can only have certain drinks...? Thank you so much & I hope someone can shed some light on this for me! - Rachael.

We booked the Premium Swim Up room for me and my FI. I am not totally sold on it but figure we can downgrade to a premium ocean view when we get there if we are not happy.  Does anyone know if privacy is a problem with the Premium Swim Up rooms?  Our contract is for 15 rooms in 5 categories - Luxury Ocean View, Family Suite, Connecting Luxury Room, Premium Ocean View and Premium Swim Up.  Our wedding is in June 2014 and we've already booked all 15 rooms with 37 people so far.  We think we'll have around 42-45 people when everyone gets around to making their plans.  I've already started talking to the Wedding Planner in Miami who is urging me to make a lot of decisions.  But, for me, it's too early to decide what to serve for dinner at an event that's almost a year in the future.  Has anyone else started planning so early?

Thank you!

We used one of the cocktail parties as our farewell party and it worked out nice. We chose the "Zocalo Terrace" which is close enough to Zocalo Bar if your guests do chose to get a different drink. At the event they set up a private little bar area just for you and your guests and this is the one where they can only get certain drinks from. It worked out just fine, though and everyone liked it!

Hi! I just got back Sunday and we were in the Premium Swim Up Suite. I definitely didn't think there were any issues with privacy and I LOVED having a swim up suite. We had the jazcuzzi in our room as well as one outside, and then the pool bed that led into the lazy river. The only thing I did not like is that our guests that weren't "Premium" weren't allowed to be in the area at all! :( I really thought this was lame especially at night bc I have a toddler. I wanted to out him to bed and then hang out on our balcony/hot tub/pool right outside our room. I'm not gonna lie... at night we broke this rule. I felt like if I paid for a premium suite I was going to enjoy that hot tub with whoever I wanted. How could they tell me someone can't be in my hot tub? Besides, once he went to bed I couldn't leave my room... I was trapped and my guests weren't technically allowed to come hang? lame! Other than that, I loved the concept and didn't have any issue with privacy. During the day I typically didn't break that rule bc we jsut went over to the family pool by the "Wave Swim Up Bar" and made that our group's spot for the week. It was wonderful!

Also, I was a June 2013 bride and I started contact with my Miami WC in March 2012. I made all those food decisions, etc just to get it out of the way and then changed anything I wanted as time went on. The decisions are not set in stone until you pay, but at least they are out of the way if you make them early and don't need to change them. :) Definitely do whatever you are comfortable with, though!

Thank you so much. That really eases my mind. My TA raved about the Premium Swim Up but I wasn't sure. We will likely only qualify for one 'free' event which I want to use for cocktails after the ceremony and before the reception. Zocalo Terrace sounds nice and I believe on the way from the Sky Terrace to Zavas Plaza where we're having the reception.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
