We just made our decision to get married at Azul Sensatori in June 2014. This week, we did site visits at A.S., Playacar Palace, The Royal Playa del Carmen and Gran Porto Real. All were very nice especially Playacar Palace but for our families, the Azul Sensatori offered more of what we need and want. We have one more day at Secrets Silversands and then the wedding planning will really start when we get back to Chicago tomorrow. Many thanks to everyone on his thread who helped me to make the decision with all your advice and comments.

Yay! So exciting!! Safe travels!

Hi ladies! I wanted to share my dress with you all. After searching and searching, I finally found the one and said yes to the dress! HUGE relief. Now, I just need to order it in my size and make some minor alterations! I think the train may be a bit too long for me so I'm thinking about shortening it up a bit. Hope you all like it :) Officially feeling like a bride-to-be!

Hi Jenny, those are exactly the 4 resorts that my fianc© and I are going to check out in July! Any reasons why you chose AS over the rest?

Hi Carolyn, I have family and friends coming who range in age from 3 to 75 years old with the majority being 45-55. It seemed like there would be too much walking at the Royal and beach at the Royal and Gran Porto Real seemed crowded. The beach and the rooms at the Playacar Palace were fabulous. Location was near the ferry to Cozumel where you can go snorkeling at the Palace resort there. But, there were only 3 restaurants on site and I know the older people will not want to leave the resort to go to the shops and restaurants in Playa del Carmen. If you have a younger group then the Playacar would be great. You will find lots of excellent reviews for them. We chose Azul Sensatori because it has something for everyone. It has a child care center for the toddlers, a game room for the teens, a family section with connecting rooms and an adults only section for those who don't want to hear the kids. Plus, I really like the Sky Wedding option and hope to have the reception at Zavas Plaza. It is a beautiful property and I am excited about going there next year.

Hi Dawn. The wedding is next June so I have lots of time to plan. By this time next year I will be nervous wreck if I don't have every detail planned down to the clothes we will wear every day!! I hate doing things at the last minute.

Hi, my name is Antoinette and I got engaged September 2012. I am considering selecting AS for my wedding and had two major concerns:  1. the guest rooms, and 2. the actual beach (I'm definitely a beach bum when I'm on vacation and beautiful beach is pretty important to me), do you have any thought on either,  or did you take any pictures?

        Welcome to the forum!

        1. The guest rooms are beautiful, very modern clean lines.

        2. The beach is this resorts' one downfall. The beach is quite narrow and hard packed sand. The water is shallow and one must be careful, because it really is a dead coral reef. So lots of rocks, coral and uneven bottom. There is a beautiful beach area just to the north (about a 10 minute walk)

          Hi ladies.

We did it and it's all over now!

Everything was lovely and the resort really exceeded our expectations. I'll be back to share more details later, but here's a photo! Feel free to ask anything specific in the interim -- we just returned on Saturday so it's fresh in my mind.
