Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

So Im actually getting married at Azul Beach Hotel but dont see any current brides so I was reccomend to join this thread since we all deal with the same coordinators, ect. I have to say Im pretty happy with Tiffany! We were dealing with Nancy who was a such a nightmare! Its so good to have someone who gets back to you in 24 hrs...Im sure there have been postings on this.

I do have a question - do you know if its possible to have a non religious symbolic ceremony? Tiffany mentioned only a minister performs these (we wanted the judge but i guess they just do the legal ones) but both my FI and I are pretty adament about having no religous undertone...I know this is last minute but we were going to do the legal ceremony untill last week and we changed our minds

You may have already shared before, but would you mind sharing your budget and what they charged you for your private event & extras? I'm hoping I haven't forgotten anything I need to budget for...epecially since everything seems to be an additional charge! Thanks!
Sure, no problem!!! If you will PM me, I will email you my spreadsheet I did that has everything on it.

Has anyone asked if a guest/friend can officiate a symbolic ceremony? We're not doing an official ceremony and would prefer no religious undertones. We have two guests coming who officiate marraige ceremonies in the US and both are very close to us and it would be so special for one of them to do it. Since it won't be official, do you know if the resort allows it?

Let me be the latest to join in on the Jo'Zeen frustration. Her emails are SO FRUSTRATING! I have to step away after reading them to avoid sending an angry email back. You wait a day for a response, and it's always a pasting from the website or another question that doesn't answer yours.

I know it's more than 45 days out, but she and I had already planned everything out and since we knew everything we wanted I thought I would go ahead and pay. This way she can get all of my requests to the onsite coordinators and they can make sure it's all been reserved and taken care of (plaza deck, etc). I was told that they can't promise you a specific wedding location or private event site until you are paid in full....of course that prompted me to get on the ball! Now, let's just hope they get it all right! lol
Congrats on getting everything settled! I got a different story from Tiffany - she didn't mention that we'd need to pay in full before we could be confirmed for anything. She did say that she wouldn't be able to request anything (venue of reception, food, etc) until 3 months from our date (wedding on 5/24). So, I've been patiently waiting... I think its crazy that we would have to pay in full before they will confirm where your ceremony or reception will be held! I'm trying not to get frustrated, but its kind of hard not to.

Did Tiffany mention how soon after you'd receive confirmations? Would you mind PM'ing me your detail sheet/budget - I'm wondering how much the "details" will add up to.

Thanks!!

I just found out from Tiffany there is another wedding the same day as mine, and that it will depend on what our guest numbers are as to where we can have our events. I'm only concerned that the other bride will be wanting the same areas as I do! Has anyone run into this issue? I'm 9 months out but would like to have it set so I don't have to worry about it between now and then.

I agree with you Pepper...if you pay you should know what you are paying for!!!

I feel so bad for the Azul Fives Brides. The news was released yesterday that the opening of Azul Fives has been post-poned for several months.

I found the following statement on TripAdvisor.

Here is a letter from Karisma in regards to Azul Fives:

AZUL FIVES HOTEL BY KARISMA TO OPEN IN LATE FALL 2009

MIAMI (Feb. 12, 2009)—Azul Hotels by Karisma, a premier collection of Gourmet Inclusive® properties located throughout the Riviera Maya, Mexico, today announced that the opening of Azul Fives Hotel by Karisma is delayed until late fall 2009.

The financial crisis and economy’s continued decline has adversely affected the official launch of Azul Fives Hotel, as with many other projects of its kind, impacting the availability of funds and subsequently, impeding the property’s completion. As such, after serious consideration and exhaustion of other alternatives, construction on Azul Fives Hotel was promptly halted.

I can only imagine what a huge undertaking it was to open 2 large resorts months apart from one another. However, it is very disappointing for those who were booked there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
