Oh no. Was it super expensive? Could you reorder the dress in size 12 and get it before the wedding? Or can you mail it back to exchange it for the larger size?

I am sure she feels embarrassed and will get around to it, but for the sake of your stress level I would hope she decides to do something! And soon.

I can't believe I am involved with any blogs on-line...I am not a girl of my generation..I am not on Facebook or any other social media...I am not even sure I know what I am doing on this website..lol..I will say that threw reading these post you ladies have all help me TREMENDOUSLY!!! Thank you all for posting such useful information!!

I have a wedding planner/travel agent here in New York that has been an amazing help in the process of booking my wedding. I don't even contact the Azul coordinators because any questions I have I ask her and she contacts them and gets back to me rite away. Anyone looking to book a DW in the NY area I will be more then happy to give you her information. She is the best thing that happened to my fiance and I!!

I had planned on ordering all my decorations from Lomas however I also felt like they are a rip off!!! It looks like I will bring as much stuff as I can including chair bows, lanterns, seating cards ( I am using sand dollars), beach signs, sparklers, and maybe even table decorations..such as my own napkins, table runners and menus.

MY BIGGEST concern is music..I planed on having a DJ for cocktails and the reception. I know the outside vendor fee is $800 and I already gave my free room to our photographer. Anyone who used a Lomas Dj or has any help please contact me...

Also what did previous brides do about music for the ceremony??

Welcome Alyssa! I felt the same way when I first posted on! I never post on anything or blog but this website has become so helpful! It makes planning little less stress free!

What planner are you using in NY? I live in NY as well and not having to deal with contacting anyone sounds great! LOL

As for the Dj I booked an outside DJ and I am planning on booking him a room for three nights because it will be cheaper than the outside vendor fee. I am using DJ Doremixx. Even with the fee it comes out to pretty close to Lomas prices. He has great reviews as well!

Hope this helps!

Hi Gina!

I booked DJ Doremix and Shenko Photography. I found Shenko by sheer coincidence b/c another photographer who was already booked for our date recommended her- I could not have been more happy to have this happen! Her work is amazing and truly inspiring =) The link's below if you want to take a look at her work/pricing. Also, her work is top notch and yet her prices were WAY better than everyone else we researched! Same goes for DJ Doremixx- The highest recommended DJ in the area and cheaper than the resort's DJ. I couldn't find any reviews on the resort DJ's so I wasn't willing to settle & hope for the best.

Yes, as long as you book the vendor a room in their name for 3 nights, the resort will allow them on-site w/o additional charges. It's still cheaper than the $800 outside fee. And also as mentioned below, if they're a guest technically at the resort for 3 nights, they can come before the wedding to meet us at no charge. Also good to know, from what I understand the vendor can check in only on the day of the wedding even if the 3 nights starts before that day. As long as they check in before bringing their equipment in, the resort won't give you a problem.

Hope that helps =)

I also booked outside vendors and was going to pay for them to stay 3 nights because it is cheaper than the outside vendor fee. They both have no intention of staying there. Do you think it will be a problem that we do this? Lynda said it was fine, I just don't want to get there and have any issues.

I didn't even think of day passes for the photographer! I think they want to meet before the wedding and I think the DJ does also.

Thanks!

Hi Nicci!

I can't believe your MOH is making excuses for not handling the situation right away! I give you credit for trying to stay calm about this, b/c I would be very upset with my MOH if she acted as if this wasn't of importance. I'm sure a bit of it may be embarrassment, but regardless it has to get done, the clock is ticking! I hope it works out, and just tell her it means a lot if she takes it into her own hands ASAP, as you have enough to handle.

Hi Christine,

Yes, you are correct about the measurements and also 2 sheers is fine for the beach gazebo. I think the blue & green would look nice together =)

I LOVE eBay!!! They have so many amazing bulk packages for everything you'd possibly need! And that's a great deal they're giving you for the sheers, good job!!!

I know this has been asked a million times but I just want to make sure before I order my fabric. For the sheers for the gazebo on the beach- 12 meters by 1.5 meters right? And usually people get 2 of them? My colours are blue and green so I am assuming I should do one of each colour? Thanks for your help.

ps- the place I am ordering the organza from can only make the width 1.4m, this should not be a problem should it?

Check out Ling's Moment online and Ebay for chair sashes and fabric for the gazebo. I ordered enough sashes for the ceremony and reception b/c I could not bother paying Lomas $4/chair and they were so much cheaper! AND the organza I found for $10/m in stores here, they are giving me the 12m piece for $30 (that's including shipping!) Hope this helps!

Sand Ceremony Question-  I just ordered my frame from etsy, I love it!!  and the girl engraves them as well so that will be super nice.  I plan to order online a coral colored sand, but was thinking that my other sand color would be neutral, just sand colored.  Does anyone know if I can just snag actual sand from the beach?  I think that would be really cool to have real sand from the beach where we were married, but I am not sure if there would be problems with that.

Is anyone familiar with wish lanterns?  https://wishlantern.3dcartstores.com/eco-wish-lanterns  I really wanted to have one of these for each couple who is at my wedding to release at the end of the ceremony, wouldn't that be beautiful! However when I asked Amanda about it she said they were not allowed.  I've decided to go ahead and order one to take with me, I can then ask when on the property for permission, just do it, or walk down the beach a bit to be off property.  They appear to be really safe and are biodegradable.  I could ask Elizabeth, but don't really want to be told no again and then just do it anyways, ha.  Has anyone had these at their wedding or had any other feedback from wedding coordinators?

Okay, so first off the sand ceremony- I am sure you will be able to snag some beach sand. I would do it before the wedding. Just bring another container with you, and then when you're on the beach one afternoon fill it up.

As for the lanterns, I asked for some brides when I visited and they said No. The reason is fear of the lantern/balloon drifting towards the buildings and they all have reed roofs (very flammable) and the possibility of a fire. And the wind usually comes in from ocean towards the resort. So unless you go further away somewhere where there are no buildings I don't think you will be able to use them. Sorry.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
