True! You just walk into any of the restaurants and ask to be seated. If they are too busy, you choices are 1) try a different restaurant, 2) they give you a buzzer that will light up when your table is ready. Then you just find the closest bar and have a pre-dinner drink! We never waited for more than 20 minutes.

Only Le Chique has reservations. You have to go to Le Chique mid afternoon (4pm?-5:30pm?), and place your reservation. I would try as soon as I arrive- it's an experience not to be missed! And keep in mind, they never fully book the restaurant- you'll often see tables empty because they only serve a certain number of people an evening (I think it's about 45-50 max.), so you have to get those tables early! :)

justiner57 : Love that pink dress! Such a neat design. Looks like it was a super fun time.

Congrats Michelle on a beautiful wedding! I imagine I'll be crying like a baby before walking down the aisle as well! Can I ask why they didn't upgrade you to a honeymoon suite right away? I'm secretly hoping we get that (we booked an oceanview room). Also, glad to see your bridesmaid centerpieces worked (that's what I'm doing). Did they supply the pink stones? They are charging me $10 per vase with water. THANKS!!

justiner57 - you're making me miss my Vegas bachelorette! I want another! Glad you lived it up! :)

Hi Jessie They couldn't upgrade us as the room wasn't available straight away. I got the water beads off of eBay and took them with me, then asked at my first meeting if they had vases I could borrow, I didnt get charged for them or charged for setting things up. I only booked essential things before going photographer (but I emailed them direct to arrange times etc), spa, flowers, menu then I sorted out the rest when I got there. Hope this helps.

and you can take the sand container out to change up the pic. whenever you want.

Very interesting!  I am wondering if I even bother saying I want table runners etc. before getting down there, and a basket for my pashminas or the little "sandbox" that I want to use to put my place cards in..........

hmmmmmmmmm....what do you think?  risk it?

:)

It is an option with the Set Menu dinners. But you really have to push them to get this! You have to pick the appetizer and the dessert, but you should have the option of choosing 2 of the entrees and letting your guests choose. Of course there is the 45 day prior to wedding deadline (or 21 days if you really push your cause LOL)

Take it in your carry one....carefully! cheesy.gif

I was planning on taking it in my carry on, but then read somewhere that someone tried to do that and wasn't allowed because of the glass and then had to put it in her checked bag.... yikes! I just would hate for it to be all mixed up after doing it! :)

We brought our own set down there, and then carried it on the plane with us on the way back.  We did the ceremony with our kids, so we had their 3 vases engraved with their names, and then our initials on the bride/groom vases.  Our set came with a foam piece to stuff in the top, so no sand shifting!  I have it set out at the house, and love it.  This is where I ordered mine:  http://www.foreverwedstore.com/product/FWUSCSSF.html

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
