The resort provides the sand it comes with your package...you'll see on your detail sheet you have to tell them the colors that you want.

I also purchased my sand ceremony from Say Anything, but I went for the other one... where did you buy your sand from?

Also someone asked about the SEAshells and my Sand Ceremony kit...

The Sand Ceremony kit was ordered off of Etsy by a seller named SayAnything Designs heres that link http://www.etsy.com/...ter[0]=handmade

And the gorgeous pearlized Nautilus Shells were from http://www.conchking.com  The gentlemen there were very nice ...he called me once he realized what I wanted the shells for and told me to order different ones if I wanted my sand to hold it....I believe I got the 5-7'' shells not the halves...I would call and speak to them to make sure you're getting the right ones and tell him you want them to be a nice size not too small but not big either...THey shipped pretty fast and were perfect but make sure you carry them on the airplane with you as they are extremely delicate and may break...they made it back home in one piece and we are going to set them up in our new home....they are soo pretty! You ladies will love them!

People are going to to stop and watch no matter where you are...typically there arent many ppl on the beach at night but you can still stand on the walkway and see over the ledge and there were rooms directly across from zavas plaza ppl were watching and dancing on their balconies LOL ....I had my welcome party at palapa yoga and all my guest were there for the most part 60 plus ppl. They'll sit everyone around the gazebo on the sand if you want to have dancing...I personally LOVE the way Zavas Plaza is set up with the lights and the huge gazebo is gorgeous...if you decide on palapa yoga you'll probably need alot more lighting on the beach as it gets pretty dark. I have a good set up picture of my welcome party and of my reception so you can see...I should have it in a few days =)

Thanks murmel for the map!  That was just what i needed.  FI didn't want a cocktail party so i wanted to atleast direct our guests of a bar/lounge near the Zavas Plaza.  You ladies are so wonderful.

I have managed to set some time aside, finally, to continue with my wedding plans.........and have a few questions, if anyone has any answers I would really appreciate them!

1- If your choosing to have a 'private dinner' where can you choose to hold it? i have 25 guests and was hoping we could all sit togeather away from the hotel, on the beach or something nice and private! if anyone knows what the options are, please advise!

2- On the private dinner menu, can you pick and choose from any of the set menu's and have say a starter from menu 1, main from 2 and desert from 3?? typically all the options I like are not on the same menu!!

3- Is the cocktail hour (after ceremony) free?? where do you choose cocktails from or can you design your own?

If anyone can help on any of the 3 questions that would be great!! off to look at flowers now whilst im in the Wedding Mood!! thanks in advance x

                1. There are numerous places you can hold your 'private dinner'. The beach has 3 locations, the back patio of the Zocalo restaurant, the Zavas Plaza (by the wedding location just above R5 on the map), and also 2 banquet halls in the main lobby building. You can also have an area in the Spoon restaurant, and the Italian (although I think it might be a max. of 20)SensatoriMap.jpg

                2. You have to choose a set menu (and they will not let you mix and match- we tried!) However we were able to do one of the 'add on' courses from a different set menu. We were able to offer our guest the choice of 2 mains, but the numbers had to be given to them about 40 days in advance

                3. Cocktail hour is not free (unless you have a GI travel agent, in which case you may be eligible for one). They offer most basic cocktails, or are open to you designing one.

Beach brides, what are you wearing for shoes? I love high heels and don't think I can do without them on my wedding day. I think I've read on this thread that the sand isn't that deep and heels would work. Any advice? And have you seen the adorable shoes with the light blue soles? The something blue right on the bottom of your feet. Makes for cute pictures. I also love the blue "I Do" crystals I have seen on Etsy.

Thanks for posting the sand ceremony kit info.  Did your sand shift on the trip home?  your photos are amazing.  I think I've said that once before but man.....I hope mine are that beautiful. I didn't think about a sunrise session.  Our TTD is a couple of days after the wedding. Again thanks for all the info

Ladies....I did have a mini breakdown yesterday worrying about how I will get all together.  I have scheduled to take my last board exam the end of Jan. I still have a lot to do for the wedding and keep up my study schedule.  By, Gods grace it will all work out.....matter of fact I know it will but its hard.  I say all this just to let ALL you ladies know you have been a blessing.  All of your ideas, suggestions, and information that i just didn't and still don't have the time to find on my own.  THANK YOU!!!!!  You all have helped sooo much.  Happy New Year and Blessings to the newly weds of 2010 and the soon to be mrs. of 20111!!!  Yeah soooo excited!
