Side note: On the webinar they even said you can rent the donkey under several circumstances. It didn't have to be the cocktail hour and they said to rent just the donkey for an hour was $100

Did you carry that all back home with you as wellhuh.gif
HAHA, don't you mean you don't have the yearS, paranoia and Type A obsession like me? wink.gif Lucky you :)
I'm embarrassed to say, much to my DH's confusion I brought back everything I could possible bring which was a lot.

BTW, if you want to keep things like your cake topper etc. They threw mine away which devistated me... it was custom made and I had her paint our wedding date on the bottom specifically to keep sad.gif So just have someone make sure to grab stuff after the wedding before they clean up.

I've been playing catch up with the posts and have seen that I am not alone in dealing with bad behavior displayed by people whom we've considered close at it relates to their wedding. It's helped me calm down considerably...not that I am glad any of you have to deal with this either...but the advice and support here is AMAZING!!! As though it couldn't get worse, my grandparents are now calling my mom asking why I"m okay with them not coming and why am I so willing to sacrifice them being present at my wedding? HELLO! You haven't even told me yet you weren't coming!!!!!! Not to mention we planned our date to coincide with their date, are using them as our witnesses at our legal JOP wedding and using their champagne glasses from their wedding at our wedding for the toasts. What the hell?fryingpan.gif

Anyway...it's good to vent!

Congrats on those whose weddings are coming up!!! Looking forward to hearing all about it!
Vent away girl, this is where we do it!

Yeah I had a few of these, found out weren't coming NEVER told me, the best was 2 groomsmen did this. I finally had to confront them both on this. Anyways... lame. People don't take into consideration you and all your going through sometimes and it's unfortunate.

Not I, jazz. I haven't heard of him/them either and I just completed all of my photog research and made a selection. Have you done a search on this forum to see what you could fine. You might also search wedding wire and the knot as well prior to making a selection. Out of all three, this site has by far been the best for my DW photog search.

Sooo sorry you are having to deal with that. I think many of us know how that feels, and it's real crappy. I have learned which family and friends are really important in my life from this wedding planning. I think that is completely ridiculous that they ask why you are willing to "sacrifice them being present at your wedding". Why don't they answer why they will sacrifice not coming to your wedding?! Feel free to vent away....you need to!

Maybe you girls can help- my FI and I are looking for his suit. We're looking for a nice khaki suit (I am picturing him wearing it with a linen-type white shirt, top two buttons unbuttoned..). We have been to Nordstrom, Macy's, Bloomies, Banana Republic & JCrew... and can't find one! Anyone have a khaki suit-spotting lately?
FI and his groomsmen got a great calvin klien khaki linen suit from Mens Warehouse. They are on sale right now too! Good luck

Thanks for the note about the oil spill. You are absoutly right and I am going to view it the same way. And my prayers are with your region. I love New Orleans! And you guys deserve much better than this!
Thx! The sage sounds pretty, I'm gonna have to look it up.

We keep getting the short end of the stick for some reason but hopefully it will just make us stronger and allow people/businesses to learn from their mistakes. I feel for people who are just getting some sense of normalcy since Katrina and are going through this now. One of the pharmacists I used to work for always replied when someone asked how he was doing, "Oh, you know I'm good, you can't kill bad grass!" So, like bad grass, we are here to stay!!

cheer2.gifIt's almost your turn!!

If you don't mind me asking, what is a pre-wedding meet and greet? Is that for the bridal party?

Once again, more people that don't think before they act. I'm sorry you have to go through this. I just had someone else do this to me just this past weekend and too bad she was my wedding singer!! So, I completely feel your pain. hug2.gif

I too have been battling with a few family issues pertaining to our DW so I might not be of much help at this point......but I would like to encourage you to stay focused on the goal and what you and your FI want for YOUR day. It sounds like your grandparents and aunts might have had exactly what they wanted for their special day and you have the right to set your own expectations for YOUR own day and wedding. As much as I'm sure you love and respect them, if they cannot understand that, they are caught up in their own selfishness. Maybe you can make them a big part of your at home vows, which it sounds like you intended to do. Other than that, let your choice for a DW wedding be something you are proud of and excited about! As long as FI is in, that's all that matters. Don't let people, even loved one's, steal your shine. I know it is easier said than done and I too am working on it......but in the end you are marrying your FI and not your grandparents or your aunts. It's all about the two of you and any considerations you make for others are a bonus!
Very good advice!!

OMG! After all of the trouble I went through to get my toppers made, I would have a mini fit!! Just our cake jewelry was over $300! And I know you put a lot of thought and time into your details. Did you flip out or what? After all of the nickel and diming they do, I'd want a refund for it expensive or not!!

Yeah, this is happening to us monthly it seems. We have people who swear they're coming but still haven't even called the TA (groomsmen included) and we have people who decided not to come and not tell us. Two of my cousins sing, so I was going to ask both of them to sing at the wedding. The older one told me she had to check her schedule since she's getting to be all big time now and the younger one is still on the guest list as we speak. Too bad their mom had to tell me that both of them weren't coming. I've only seen the two of them like a hundred times since planning began. I even brought it up at dinner the other day and the younger one never said a word. Guess I should change my siggy.

Does anyone know where we can find videos of the music options? My WC sent me a crap link that has one video. Music is very important to me...I don't understand how they have nooooo videos!!

I forgot to MQ but r something...lol...hang in there. I don't understand why close family and friends go and talk about your wedding with other people and not you. I would have so much more respect for some that did this to me. Not to mention the stress the complaining of relative put on my mom...its not fair.

oh well. PS Amy gorgeous BM dresses...AmyKH great advice about the cake topper...my sister just finished making mine and its great and both of us would be upset if it was trashed

PPS Today's the day we supposedly get answers about getting more rooms, construction etc. fingers crossed for good news

During the webinar they talked more about the food in general. Nothing particular but they interviewed the chef and they talked about the wine a TON and the alcohol choices. Also ladies I am working on something in writing about the donkey for you! I emailed the peeps that put on the webinar to see if i can get you something.

    • Hi all, My younger sister is 5 months carrying. She is suffering from hearing loss now. She was perfectly alright before she got conceived. But once she got conceived her hearing ability started getting reduced. Is it quite common now? What would be the reason for hearing loss during the pregnancy period? After scanning the doctor said that the baby is underweight. Since she is suffering from severe vomiting, she is not eating any food. Hence she seems to be very weak. The doctor has prescribed a lot of medicines for her to stay healthy and to deliver a healthy baby. In the midst of all these she is also undergoing the treatment under a hearing aid audiologist in order to improve her hearing ability. Will she completely regain her hearing ability?
