Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Ok I have a lot to add to this forum.

I have been reading it for a few weeks now and haven't been able to reply to any posts. Now that I am finally on here I have a lot to share with you.

I have attended an Azul Beach Hotel in June 2008 and have a bit of insights in Lomas travel and Karisma.

MexicanBridewithQuestions, the photos that you posted of a private reception at Azul Beach are a little misleading. You couldn't possibly know this but the smaller Chill restaurant doesn't even look the way it does in the photos. It is a totally enclosed restaurant with glass and is FREZING cold because they have the AC cranked.

I have also seen a photo of the main restaurant being used for a private reception, and I know that probably the only way that could happen is if the couple booked almost the entire hotel. My brother in law got married and the weather there was terrible and they cancelled his beach reception and made them eat their dinner in the enclosed part of the main restaurant where no one ever sat. They would not let them have any of the nice restaurants for their private reception and they still charged them for the beach one.

That being said, I still think that they did a nice job for the wedding, and the next day there was another wedding and it was beautiful and they had their reception on the beach.

Also, I am booking with The Wedding Holiday like a few other people on here and am interested in hearing from the others who have booked with them. Are any of you going on the site visit in November?

I took a site visit when I was there in June and I have to tell you that some things have changed dramatically and others haven't. Like the reception area and the rooftop are almost exactly the same. I was FREAKING out when I saw the new photos but my Dad is in Construction and he said that November should be fine.

I also have to say that this site has been a lifesaver as I felt totally in the dark about everything. Now that I have seen the recent photos and read what all of your have to say, I am content that the hotel will be opening on time in November and that by the time I get married in January, everything will be fantastic.

Finally, the Azul Beach had the most fantastic food and service. Everything was amazing and its a big reason why I booked my wedding at a Karisma property.

I know that

Hey Meghan,
I just found out the rate for the UK travelers, going through Thomson Travel. For our departure date (29th of September 09) we're looking at £1078 per person for 7 nights, which is like $2100 CDN!

But then, they do have a much longer travel time than us. They are in the air for almost 10 hours to get there!

You don't have to book the entire hotel at Azul Beach to use the main restaurant. As Carolina said, it depends on the occupancy level of the hotel. So, this couple that had their reception at Chill, the main restaurant, could have had their wedding during a time when not many other guests were staying there. This is the same at Sensatori. You can have your reception there, it depends on how many people are staying in the hotel.

And the reception that took place at Chill. Is at Chill b/c the light fixtures exactly match with the Chill Restaurant when I was there. And yes, they usually do have it enclosed in glass. But you can also move these glass panels too.

Just wanted to clear it up.

Congratulations on getting your wedding confirmed. That is definitely the hardest part. From now on, it is much easier.

You don't have to book the entire hotel at Azul Beach to use the main restaurant. As Carolina said, it depends on the occupancy level of the hotel. So, this couple that had their reception at Blue, the main restaurant, could have had their wedding during a time when not many other guests were staying there. And weddings at Azul Beach can only be up to 50 people, so there is no way to rent out the entire hotel for a wedding. This is the same at Sensatori. You can have your reception at a restuarant, it just depends on how many people are staying at the hotel during the time you have your wedding.

And the reception that took place at Chill. Is at Chill b/c the light fixtures exactly match with the Chill Restaurant when I was there. The way it is set up with the bar is also exactly the same at Chill too. And yes, they usually do have it enclosed in glass. But you can also move these glass panels too.

Just wanted to clear it up.

First, I would like to thank everyone that posts on the site! I came across this a while ago and find it extremely helpful!

I have booked through "the Wedding Holiday", which I noticed several others have as well. I have been given a departure date but I'm still waiting on the confirmation of the wedding date for Nov 2009. Its been almost a week and I still haven't heard back....normal I guesshuh.gif

I'm really glad I chose the destination route, but at the same time its a bit overwhelming for me because I have NEVER travelled anywhere. Any advice that you may have would be excellent!

Although the wedding seems so far away, I'm not sure if I should be starting to work on things like photography arrangements, etc.

I am on a tight budget so a private reception is pretty much out of the question. Anyone else not doing a "formal" reception? I'm not even sure what kind of arrangements to make!!huh.gif

Hey Girls

I found the best place for customized invitations and they really work with your budget. They send you a questionnaire and based upon your answers, they send you a selection of papers, charms and fonts to choose from. Then they send you samples in the mail. Here are some pics. They are a great company. Let me know if you want their info.

Hello ladies!

I'm brand new on here, and we are leaning towards Sensatori to book our wedding in November 09. I'm trying to catch up with the thread, so I don't repeat any questions you have already posted.

I do have to say though, you guys are honestly a blessing and a curse in disguise! smile03.gif None of my friends understand how stressed out I am about going about our wedding in a 'non-traditional way' etc and pretty much everyone is writing it off as easy. It's a relief to know I'm not the only one that is going through this and is finding it a lot harder than advertised 'stress-free - planning". However, it's a pain to find out that everyone is having similar problems regarding answers from the hotel on the packages etc.

I was hoping I'll find out from one of you some miraculous way of planning without loosing sleep over it.

talk with you all soon!

Hi Amy,

We are getting married on the 8th of November 2008 just a week before you and I just wanted to let you know that people at Karisma are talking right now about moving our wedding to another resort...because it is NOT going to be open on time. Thought you might want to check with your TA if you haven't already! I am the most dissapointed bride right now!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
