My best friend's fiance (they were getting married in March) was killed in a bad car accident on Christmas day. I have spent the past few days running around town canceling all the different vendors so she won't have to do that.

So I guess, I just want to remind everyone--even though wedding planning can get crazy, at the end of the day, just remember that you are marrying the man you love and that is all that really matters.
Holy sh*t... this just made my stomach drop. That's so terrible, I don't even know what I would do. You're a good friend, I couldn't imagine also having to do that for someone, too sad.

Congrats and welcome to our thread, we're happy to have you :)

The best advice I can give you (which I know will take some time) is to read through past threads, it really answers most of your questions.

We're also here of course to answer your questions too! As soon as you know the date, let us know and Nicole will add you to our master list.

OMG, how sad. I'm so sorry for you and your friend. That really puts things into perspective.

thanks everyone for the kind words of support. my friend is holding up as well as can be expected right now...luckily, she has a large family and group of friends, so she has a lot of support right now to help her get through this hard time.

but this brings me to my dilemma. She and her fiance were booked for our wedding in May. I think it's too soon right now to even bring that up, but the final payments will be due in March. How do I bring the topic up with her? I would totally understand her not wanting to go, and would support her completely in that decision. I just don't even know how to ask. Any suggestions?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
