Only 3 out of 11 said affordability, so who knows!!! You are right, you cannot please everyone. Geez! And this resort is THE ONLY THING that FI has cared about. He's like, I will be devastated if you change it. OK, I am rambling again...thanks for the advice AGAIN!

I think we have already established this, but I could not remember...who is doing legal and who is doing symbolic?
We're doing legal...which is a bit of nightmare! (well, just not so easy as turning up and having a symbolic ceremony anyway!) we have to have bloodtests when we get there and our passports and tourist visas checked etc. I also found out if the bloodtest comes back that you have an STI or HIV or are pregnant, they won't marry you...obviously not worried about the first 2 bits but my god have we got to be careful between now and then!! can you imagine everyone getting there and then them saying, no your pregnant...no marriage! altho me and FI have discussed and decided we'd just do a symbolic one and not tell anyone, and then just get legally married just us when we got back! and we need to have 4 witnesses....all of whom must be there 4 working days before we get married...and one of mine won't be so I now won't have one and have the added dilemna of figuring out who I can ask where I wouldn't offend someone else by not asking them

(aren't you glad you asked the question now?!?!) lol sorry, haven't spoken to anyone in a while! and going crazy trying to do my wedding leaflet thing.

Lindz - I think you should stick to your resort it's SO absolutely gorgeous and people will still come!

I'm doing symbolic and TOTALLY stoked about it! I get to elimnate the step of having to sign my name which means less time during the ceremony, LOL!

Also, it gives me a fabulous reason to run away to Vegas with our honor couples for the weekend to do a crazy tacky suit, short dress Elvis marriage in the middle of the night (FI is MOST stoked about this) hahaha :) When I came up with this idea he was the most excited and decisive I've ever seen him!

OMG that's the BEST idea I have ever heard!!!!! I am doing symbolic too and was trying to think of a way to do it that would be cute and not make me feel like I have 2 wedding dates! I am totally stealing your idea! When are yall going? Is that kind of like a joint bachelor/bachelorette party?

I am getting married legally in the US first. I put Mark in charge of that, so we'll see if Mexico suddently turns out to be the legal part.

Katie, I did know about the blood tests but no idea about the pregnancy part. wow. That would suck.

Here is a weird thing, I was looking at the special offers at Azul and they said for the honeymoon package you have to provide a copy of your marriage license to prove your wedding date was w/in 30 days (not the year - just month and date) of your trip. So, now I am all freaking out that things like that will happen in the future and I'll have to celebrate my legal wedding date and not the Mexico one. weird, huh?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
