- Working on formal invites. We are making them ourselves. We will send them out January 1st and ask for a rsvp by February 28th (i think...not 100% sure on dates yet) We are getting married July 2nd 2010, but I want people to get on booking.
- No idea what we are doing for centerpieces or oot bags yet. I'm thinking we'll start dealing with those after christmas.
- FI and I are taking ballroom dance lessons! It's a lot of fun but expensive! They are going to coreograph (sp?) something for our first dance.

I think that's all right now
Meghan,

I am so excited for you to have your first fitting. Do you already have your shoes and undergarments too?
I am so jealous you are so organized. I need to get on the ball.

Amy,

I really have no idea how I would plan this wedding without your ideas. I am just wrote down your places for the plastic covers, business cards, and wrist coils. OMG I really need to get moving on some of this stuff with only 4 months left.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!

Hi Ladies! Here is what has been going on with my planning:

- Just ordered my veil about 20 minutes ago!!! So excited!! I love, love, love it! Its short and full of ruffles is the best way to describe it.

- My FI and I are official and just got our contract from our travel agent for a group travel packages and who has booked. We have 38 people coming who have booked through our travel agent. I think a few others are just booking via travel website.

- Thanks to Amy being a rock star. I am also doing real touch flowers. I am still working on ideas with 2 of the vendors and will be making a decision within a week or so. I really hate to do this, but I was so put off I am going to.

*Angel Accents I highly do not recommend. She was very pushy when it came to ideas and making a decision. She wanted a decision within 24 hours of her providing a quote. I talked to her on the phone and she was ok, but was very eager to tell you that she didn't have time for you to think about it, and there is always another bride to take your place. I didn't like that approach at all.

- My shower is in a few weeks Nov. 7th.

A few additional questions for you girls:

- I am deciding if i want to do a 2 tier cake at the resort. Can you tell me if you provided your Lomas WC any ideas or pictures? If you don't mind sharing if you picked out special flavors, designs, or cost. I would really appreciate the help.

- Shoes! I need to decide on my shoes. I am going to wear heels because I love heels. I am thinking about getting colored heels to match my coral bridesmaid dresses for some contrast. Any thoughts on this idea? Also, are you making your bridesmaids wear heels in the sand or just having them pick out what they want as long as its in the color you want the shoes to be in.

I am wearing hot pink heels to match my color scheme. As for bridesmaids, I would love to find them all hot pink shoes. We will see! Like Amy, I don't really care what they wear to the reception.

WOAH sliced strawberries in your cake and hazelnut? Were these options given to you? I had Strawberry, Vanilla, or chocolate....

Love that cake - I will try and photobucket my cake picture soon.

I already had my lingerie bridal shower here at a friends house and plan to have the Bachelor/Bachelorette parties in Mexico Thursday night before my Saturday wedding.
Amy, HOw much are they charging you for the cake?

I really appreciate all your help and feedback! Basically my decision came to this: both resorts were equally as cool, but I think I can get more for my money at Le Blanc, with more things included in packages, cheaper DJ's, etc. Although I wanted to stay in the riviera, I think Cancun will be fun too!
congrats on the new booking mrs lutz smile03.gif

did I start a trend with the whole 'honorary AS bride' thing??!! lol it's just such a good thread, none of us can bear to leave it!

But I found exactly the same as you - the AS is a lovely, lovely place and Tiffany was great with her correspondence, the girls here are great with advice and tips, but I could get more for my money elsewhere. At the hotel I'm going to their top package is $1300 cheaper and includes in the price things like, a wedding cake for 20 people (ideal for my wedding), a meal at a private location, private bar for 3 hours etc etc. If I had the money to get married at AS I would have done...unfortunately I don't so we had to change.

But hey, I'm still going to the same area, at the same time, and I'm soooo going to gate-crash Amy's wedding!!! haha (only joking Amy...I'll meet you for a drink instead!! lol)

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
