KittenHeart, I Love the sunset/weather calendar you just posted a link to!

I got to check out the forecast while we are there, it's due to be sunny and 79 F on our wedding day. Looks like we will also get some rain and thundershowers while we are there... fun!!!!

So, dad is going to be able to make the wedding, but he will be having surgery on the 16th of september -Vance & I will still be in Mexico. He won't be able to swim, or go in the hottub to avoid infection, so he plans on spending most of the week relaxing in a hammock and listening to his audio books. At least he will come home relaxed!

By the way, Katie, I believe you asked me ages ago what a boudoir book is?! Sorry for the delay in reply... I had a 'sexy, boudoir style' photo shoot done as a wedding present. I also did a pin-up girl shoot and had that made into a calendar for him. If you check out some of the planning threads I know there are a lot of girls who have done the boudoir book for their FH. It is a hot trend right now in the US and Canada! Besides, when we are all 75, and not look quite so perky, it will ba a fabulous way to remember how hot we once were!

i am attaching a sample of mine... I'll put more stuff in my planning thread.

Allisa -

Isn't that sunset calender neat? That's how I chose my ceremony time and month of my wedding :)

I'm SO happy your dad is going to make it! This vaca will hopefully help him forget about the incident and let him relax and enjoy his daughters wedding fully :)

Last but certainly not least... Hello gorgeous! Va, va, voom! (I'm cheesy, I know!) you look amazing!!! I totally wanna do one of these but am petrified to be scantily clad in front of a camera! How was the shoot? Did you have to take a shot before stripping down?

It was such a good choice, your FH is gonna go crazy!

Kitten,

I requested a quote from Shavon's silks that you recommended. My FI and I talked about it, they look real and will be something we can keep. We figured we could also use them for our festivities back home. I was wondering how long it took to get your quote back from her? Also, are you going to see her for a consultation? Did you just send her pictures of what you wanted or provide her a list of flowers you wanted?

So for all the questions.

You welcome for the sunset chart! I think my FI suggested it to me oddly enough :)

It took weeks to hear back from her and I emailed her twice in the last couple weeks after we had emailed back and forth for a few days and now nothing. I believe she's very busy but the lack of correspondance has made me weary and looking for an alternative vendor. I've been looking on Etsy too and they have some really unique bouquets using real touch with some feathers in them which is cool.
I'll keep you updated on my progress!

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!

I might have to downgrade and not have the Sky Deck :o(

with all the other costs we just don't think we're going to be able to afford the extra $'s for that, or really justify the money. i'm gutted.

im hoping we can find a way but it's not looking likely :o( Amy I won't be your fellow Sky Deck sister bride anymore boo hoo.

on another note, we're going to see our TA on Sunday and going to kick some serious butt! Our wedding contract states we get 'decorated wedding location including chairs for 12 people and table with white linen', so I asked, what decoration do we get? and got told, the chairs and linen IS the decoration!!!!!!! anyone else think this is VERY misleadinghuh.gif why say you get it decorated and 'including' if really, that isn't included - that's what it is!! arrggghhh

also, some may be interested to know re: photographers......options:

1. you use one of their 2 approved Mexican ones;

2. you bring in someone external (from outside Mexico) and pay $500 vendor fee

3. you bring in someone external (from outside Mexico) and have them stay as a guest and don't pay the $500 vendor fee (at least 3 nights I think - could be wrong).

**YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BRING IN/USE ANOTHER MEXICAN PHOTOGRAPHER (even offering to pay the $500 vendor fee) OTHER THAN THOSE 2 COMPANIES APPROVED**

just thought that point's not really been put across in that way but that's what Tiffany has told me today.

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHH

Oh no Katie!!! censored.gif

I don't want to delve into your personal business of course but you still have 8 months, why don't you find out when you have to make you decision by and just wait and see if that changes for you. If it's something you really want, maybe it's meant to be and things will get better for you in a way to make it happen.

As for the decorations, that IS very misleading and ridiculous!!! I say just bring your own decor, I definitely am. My WC said they would set it up for me for no cost unless it was elaborate... now what do you think elaborate is... hmmm. Make me wonder!

Bring your own stuff it's much cheaper anyways, I'm bringing my own centerpieces.

The Mexican vendor thing I knew... doesn't bother me too much because I was never planning on using a vendor in Mexico and I got a deal with my photog.

What if you downgraded to the silver package to save money and get a small package from my photographer and you won't be paying ANY fee at all and then maybe the Sky Deck could magically fit in.

I'm not sure, let me know if you have any specific questions and I will help you cut back anywhere I can.

Good luck hun, we're here for ya smile03.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
