We were told to pick one color and our excel spreadsheet indicates "Unity Sand Ceremony with pink sand." It seems strange that we would both pour in the same color sand (the whole point is the joining and mixing of two separate sands/people!). Maybe the second color is regular sand -- which better be the case! I asked Tiffany for the details. Anyone else know more?

lol wow I should really get on some of this. My wedding is before yours and I haven't picked anything yet. I would assume that its pink and regular sand. That would make no sense to me to both be pouring the same colour. Let me know what Tiffany says... no point in me sending an email to her too!

Okay; no problem. I will post the reply when I hear back! Have you requested a copy of the ceremony language? If not, you should definitely do that. The sample that we were sent was totally off from what we wanted it to say -- so, we need to go through and re-write it...

I'm doing a legal ceremony.... I didn't think you could change it.

Oh wait, you're talking about the sand ceremony still. I have a script already prepared so I guess I need to give it to Tiffany. Wow I'm just realizing how unorganized I am lol!

I don't have the text they used for my sand ceremony, although I remember it being nice. Here is a pic for you to see, it's two colors of sand. You can bring your own or buy it onsite from the wedding coordinators for $5/color.

Hope that helps!

Sorry -- I was talking about the actual ceremony (so no worries for you!). I think Tiffany will tell you to just bring the sand ceremony language to your onsite meeting, but not positive.

Katken, thanks for the info! It's weird that Tiffany originally said to choose one color (and didn't include any more info), but maybe she'll include some of these details when she writes back. Did the cost of the ceremony include that pretty vase with your initials? Thanks!

Just heard back from Tiffany...

"For the ceremony, the minister speaks then towards the end of the ceremony, the minister explains what the sand ceremony is and then you both have your own vases with the same colored sand and you take turns filling a separate vase. I will find out what the cost will be for an additional color for the sand."

I will let you know when I hear the cost for an additional color for the sand - though, I think Katken said it is $5.

Happy Saturday everyone. I thought I would share some info that I am trying to laugh about it, though it probably isn't funny. I finally got a long email from Tiffany with some responses to my outstanding quote requests.

Bows for chairs---I have to purchase them for the beach ceremony for people to sit for 20 minutes, and then have to purchase another set for the reception 2 hours later. Come on, how hard is it to move 30 bows 150 feethuh.gif BTW, they are only $4 each.

Champagne---Grace told me I could ship my own in. I don't mind mark ups but $150 for a bottle of $40 Vuelve is ridic! Anywho...yesterday Tiffany tells me that Grace wasn't aware that the Mexican postal system is not good and that it would probably end up lost or late, but if I want to take the chance I can!!!! How funny is that! I wasn't aware that Fed-Ex changed its policies and that Mexico has turned into Colombia ala 1979. So, my question to the gang is, has anyone shipped anything to the resort? I'm thinking of sending a "test" empty box down there next month to see what happens.

If anyone wants the list of other gazebo related prices, let me know and I will post it.

    • Hi Brides! I have a Wally Bag - 66" available - $90 + shipping (US only) The wally bag typically sells for $120-$180. I used this gown bag once to transport my dress from MN to Mexico for our wedding - IT WAS PERFECT!   I was actually able to pack 4 additional maxi dresses, and my husband's wedding attire, plus a few pairs of shoes and some jewelry. I packed the dress the night before we left, and just moments before we left, I zipped the bag and folded it - ready for travel. It comes up with a nice over-the-shoulder strap, making it really easy to carry through the airports. No issues on Delta with the bag as my carry-on - I chose to put in the overhead bin, but the flight attendant did offer to hang it in the closet for me. Once we got to the resort, about 10 hours after I first folded the bag, I unpacked the bag and my dress was perfect - no wrinkles! My dress was mostly lace and had a bit of a train, but it arrived perfectly!  Honestly, this is the best way to travel with your dress!
    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
