PHOTOGRAPHY at the Sensatori!!!!

I just got married on June 27th at the Sensatori, and honestly I wouldn't do it again if I had to do it all over, but what I do have to say is that my photographer was AMAZING!!!! It rained on my wedding day so instead of having my sky deck wedding it was relocated to a hallway, but that was not even my problem...but my point is with all the problems my pictures turned out so amazing that you almost forget all the bad. Jose from caribephoto.com was my photographer. He actually works regularly at the El Dorado Royale but you can have him come to the Sensatori. Let me know if you have any questions about him and I will be happy to answer them. He was so awesome!!!

Oh no! What sort of problems did you have? I'm sorry to hear you have problems but at least your visual memories will not convey that :)

I have been on this forum for over a year and my wedding is a little over 2 months away. Honestly it has been a rocky, emotional rollar coaster with the resort being new and all the "teething" problems I keep reading about. I have stuck it out because I honestly could not find anything that fit my needs so perfectly (or as advertised). As the reviews continue to be more and more mixed I keep asking myself if we made the right choice, will my guests get what they paid for and have an amazing vacation. With the economy being down, it is even harder to ask people to shell out good hard earned cash to come to see us get married. I have expected to feel very differently than I do right now. I don't know what to expect and at times I feel like it is a game of russian roulette. I am sorry for being a "downer," but I don't know if anyone else is feeling this way or if I should just keep smiling and crossing my fingers.

The one good news is that all the brides so far on this blog seem so happy...

Robyn, If you don't mind me asking, what were the problems with your wedding? Did they decorate the hall nicely for you?

Hi ladies, hope everyone is having a nice planning day. I actually heard from my new planner, Tiffany today. I found some centerpieces for our reception that I wanted and she finally was able to get a quote. Actually came in cheaper than I expected...sure that won't happen again :)

Also I was talking to the Lomas people about organizing a golf outing. I didn't like the price they gave me, and they actually got confused and thought I was a travel agent and offered my their 10% commission! Long story short, they are giving me 10% off.

I'm not sure if any of you are arranging transfers for your guests or giving them suggestions, but I have been using a company, Cancun Tranfers, that is awesome and almost half the price of anywhere else. On my last trip we had a brand new Yukon SUV. Private roundtirps are about $70. Let me know if you guys want details.

Think that is it for now, except I found a photographer that I'm trying to negotiate with Lomas to let me bring in. Will let you know if it works.

I stupidly assumed that the decoration of the gazeebo was included (seen as it says "decoration of wedding location") but that is like another £250ish! I am thinking of taking my own organza as I cover wedding chair covers as a part time job now so should work out alot cheaper.
The bouquet is also going to cost alot more than the package allows!
We only have 22 going at the moment including us 2 so quite small. We wanted an easy option instead of all the fuss of a typical UK wedding! We also only gave guest 2 weeks notice to book and we only booked in Jan this year!
How you getting on? have you decided on receptions and things yet? We get the dinner res for 40 i think at spoon. Not ideal but not too bothered about spending the extra for a private party when I am having a massive party when we are back home.

Hey Gem :o) always great to hear from another UK bride!!

Yeah the only plus I'm seeing now with the gold package is that our bloodt tests are included in the price!! ...although saying that, there have since been people who've had the Caribe photog and posted on here saying they were really happy with them, so maybe we'll be ok...?

haha yes, I am fast learning that NOTHING is included!! just for example, before you book the package it says included - wedding cake - and then you book and your list of whats included then changes to say 'wedding cake for two'!! the thing that's annoying me most is that we had to convince EVERYONE that we're getting married in Mexico because it's cheaper than a UK wedding. if they keep adding costs on, we're going to have egg on our face and also be bankrupt.

with regards to the decoration, I think a lot of people on here have taken their own decorations and then just paid the $50 set up charge for the hotel to sort it out. I think I will have to do that but I'm not creative AT ALL and really don't know where the hell to start!! sounds handy that you do that part-time...it will help you a lot.

yeah we've got 21 booked for our wedding (including us). there may be a few last minute bookers but there won't be more than 24/25. we decided where to get married and then told everyone to let us know for definite in about a week, and got deposits off people before they could change their mind and we went to the TA and booked everyone on one booking (I'm a bit of a control freak and just felt better knowing I had everyone booked in and no chance of people waiting too long and then just not bothering). that was last month and we're getting married in May 2010 - 11 months warning!!

what date are you getting married?

I haven't had any info through yet about our options of where to get married or the reception afterwards. all I've had is prices for flowers, food, decorations etc but nothing about locations. I don't even know what our options are! but having looked through the food prices, there's noway we're forking out a fortune to feed people at an all inclusive!! especially when, like you, we're having a proper reception when we come back home. is the Spoons option that you just get a table reserved in one of the restaurants and your food is the 'normal' AI food?

Katie. x

hey, thanks for the feedback on the photographer! maybe its that the photos on the website are not Jose's but someone elses...?

glad yours have all come out well :o)

what else went wrong? I think we're supposed to be getting married on the Sky Deck but we're still debating...hadn't even thought about the possibility of rain!

Katie.

Hey Bree, I sometimes feel exactly the same. Our guests are having to pay nearly £2,500 per couple to come to our wedding and value for money and excellence is paramount for us.

BUT, its your day and if you worry about everything and everyone else, you'll have a nervous breakdown! when I start to worry about everything, my FH just tells me as long as we go there and get married, it doesn't matter if it rains, things dont go right or people don't like it. we are going there to get married and that's all that ultimately matters....and he has a very good point. we all build these things up of creating our 'perfect' day but all that does is build the pressure up on ourselves. you're getting married because you have found your soul mate and the person you want to spend the rest of your life with....just getting legally married is enough to make it perfect :o)

stay calm, breathe, and relax and take things in your stride. the actual wedding part is all sorted so the rest is just extras!

don't lose sight of the purpose of your wedding. xx

    • My best friend is getting married with his long-term girlfriend next month. As a best friend, I want to give them the best present they would ever receive on their special day. I am planning to buy them plane tickets and book them for a one week trip abroad. However, I am torn between Ukraine ski trip and a tour to Lima, Peru. My best friend loves skiing and his future wife is a chef, so I presume she would want to experience a Peruvian taste. Now, I am confused. Which is which? I would appreciate it if you guys will leave a comment to help me out with this. Suggesting a way better idea which will accommodate the two activities for the soon-to-be wedded couple is a big help too. Thanks!
    • Hello all!! I'm getting married next week. Every arrangement has been done by my sister for my special day. When I joined in an MNC I was troubled with severe headaches and as per my colleague's instruction, I took an appointment in a nearby eye clinic. And after an eye examination in Toronto, the eye specialist diagnosed hypermetropia in me. And the doctor prescribed eyeglasses for me. The doctor suggested me to wear eyeglasses during the working time. But I used to wear it sometimes not every day. Then I was troubled with severe eye strain and headache and mom was scolding me to wear eyeglasses every day. I thought of saying goodbye to eyeglasses forever. I'm planning for a Lasik eye surgery soon before my marriage. I don't know whether I'm eligible for Lasik eye surgery. I'm tensed about its recovery time and its complications. Can someone help me by sharing your views?
    • In the 2017 bridal fashion week, many styles of wedding dresses were gradually popular. From serious bling to regal capes and fun and flirty short numbers, ByCouturier've got all the hottest wedding dress trends you need to know. Allover Sparkle
Over-the-top sequins, tonal beading and metallic embellishments turned the Bridal Fashion Week runways into a glittery affair. Perfect for evening nuptials under the stars, this trend is daring but sophisticated. Pro tip: If you're rocking a gown with lots of sparkle, keep your accessories minimal and let your glitzy frock do all the talking.  Bold Ball Gowns
If you're looking to make a dramatic entrance, a classic ball gown is for you—and we saw plenty of them. Take a cue from long, lace sleeves, or get glam with an embellished strapless bodice. No matter the details, this voluminous style is sure to turn heads.  Captivating Capes
Not into veils? A full-length bridal cape or shorter capelet is the perfect alternative: It still adds movement to your gown, but feels fashion forward. Plus, this trend is an easy way to pull off a mid-wedding outfit change. Wear a cape or capelet for a more formal look during your ceremony, then whisk it away to hit the dance floor at your reception. Short, Sassy Dresses
Whether you show off your legs (and a killer pair of heels) in an embellished mini or opt for a more conservative midi-length number, a wedding dress with a flirty hemline is a chic way to mix it up. Not willing to give up your dream ball gown? Change into a shorter frock to spice up your reception or after-party.  Plunging Necklines
The deep V-neckline is a must-try for two reasons: It flatters your upper body (even if you're busty!) and elongates your frame. A plunging V with scalloped lace is ultra-feminine, while a sleek V plays up the inherently sexy vibe of a curve-skimming silhouette. Just make sure you have fashion tape handy the day of to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.
      Skinny Straps
We love this trend for two reasons: A gown with barely there straps has all of the sex appeal of a strapless neckline, plus added support. We call that a bridal fashion win.
    • Hello all,
I am here to get some suggestions on the best places to go on a honeymoon. I am getting married by the end of next month.
I was thinking of Bali or Maldives. But just wanted to know other beautiful and romantic places. The wedding banquet hall is a gift from our parents. The hall they have booked for us is one of the best banquet halls in Vaughan I’ve ever seen... Other arrangements like the videographer, photographer, wedding dress, reception dress are all finalized. The next week we have the pre-wedding shoot. Also, I'll start sending the invitations the same week. So, it is going to be hectic and I don't have time to rest or look for some nice places. So, if anyone here could suggest some places would be a great help.
      Let me know your suggestions.
      Thanks in advance!
