Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Thanks for the details on the guest passes. I've read so much information on-line I can't keep all the small print details straight.

Coming from Canada, we don't have to stay for a week. We've opted to book our airfare and hotel separately because we got a fabulous rate on airfare ($612 pp from the Vancouver area). Because it takes almost a full day to get to the RM, a stay of less than a week doesn't really make sense if we want a chance to get some relaxation time in.

It looks like I'll be switching over from the Sensatori thread...even though the Sensatori (or Azul Beach) are my favourite picks, I've decided that it's not worth the hassle of having everyone scattered at different resorts. It defeats the purpose of having an intimate gathering for a destination wedding. So, sadly I've given up on plan A and I'm now looking for more moderately priced resorts where everyone can stay together.

I appreciate all your advice. If you have any suggestions for moderately priced resorts, I'd be happy to hear about it. All the best for your wedding. I hope you post pictures after the event.

Hi other Sensatori brides,

I am looking at Azul Sensatori for my wedding on May 17, 2009. The resort looks fabulous! This forum has been such a help - thank you! I have studied it! I am definitely taken back by the strict rules with the outside vendors at the resort (especially the music), but everything else sounds great!

Hello and thank you!

Jenni

Hello !

We're considering our wedding at Sensatori....yet we're concerned about a couple things....can anyone here help ?

- if we have more than 40 guests (and we just don't know our numbers yet) then we have to pay PER guest for dinner for every guest, not just the ones above 40 . . . and the prices seem quite high . . .

- after dinner we'd like to have a place to go for drinks & dancing & socializing with each other. . .but there isn't a nightclub (and if there is, we have ppl in our group under 18 yrs old that couldn't go anyways) .....and also there are policies of ages in the lovely lounges that they'll have....

so we're curious what other brides are deciding for the ceremony (anyone chosen the SKY-CEREMONY on the rooftop? ) ...and for the "after dinner" get together with their guests...

Let us know, thank you ! smile159.gif

Hey Meghan,

Just that you need to use their vendors. For private parties - there is 1 band and 1 DJ. I would really like more options here. Finding any information on the band would ease my nerves a bit, but they are no where on the internet! They are called "Cana Y Algodon," has anyone heard anything about them? We are jewish so not only do I need them to play kick-ass music, but we also need a kick-ass hoorah!

Hi Gang!

I've been reading this blog like crazy ever since I discovered the Azul (just 2 days ago!!!) and I'm seriously leaning towards picking this hotel for a May 2009 wedding (sandwiched in between a few of yours no doubt - we should meet up for drinks at the Mojito bar for those at the resort at the same time!)

Just curious, if you can say, approx. what package rate you're getting for your guests. I've been quoted about $1800 incl. tax from Toronto for May for the basic Junior Jaccuzi suite. Also, is your T.A. demanding a deposit? Mine wants $3000 (300 per 10 people) to be refunded to me after they book (I think another T.O. bride on here may be dealing with the same agent). Not knowing how many people will attend at this point, nor having a ton of money, we would prefer to only deposit on our rooms.... Also, do you pay in full for your own room/wedding at the resort?

Thanks and look forward to being part of this thread!

Katie

Hi Katie,

I am from NYC and my fiance is from Toronto. I was wondering what TA you are using...is it Luxe? If so, that $1800 quote from Toronto is making me real nervous! When is your date and how many days are your guests staying?

Welcome to the thread!

Hi Jenni,

It is from "The Wedding Holiday", I also asked Shine and Berman Travel for quotes and am waiting on them. BUT I just read somewhere that I can only get the "free wedding package" if I book the honeymoon suite plus 15 additional room nights - the T.A. did not mention this at all and if I can't get an included wedding deal with a cheaper room category - I may not go!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
