There are only 14 adults and 3 children and it is litteraly only the sheers I will be taking, I am shocked and also dissapointed

Just asked them for a breakdown for the cost of the set up for everything that they will be setting up for the wedding so that you can see each charge.

Hi UKbride. Good news, I think there must have been a miscommunication!

I married at the Azul in March and had 16 guests. We ended up using the ballroom instead of Plaza Zavas due to questionable weather but I brought sheers, table runners, chair bows, fans, candle holders, etc. and was charged $250US for setup.

$2000 does not seem right. Maybe there was some confusion and they quoted the rentals AND setup instead of just setup.

Hopefully, an email back to clarify results in a much lower price for you. Please note though that I don't think they commit to a setup only fee until you are on site and they've had the opportunity to review all of your items.

Good luck with your planning!

. You are correct LeanneP. You won't know the exact cost of the set up fee until you actually meet with your coordinator and go over all the details. $2,000 definitely sounds like an error or it's for the total of rentals as well

hi fellow brides!

we have 10 months to go and suddenly I feel like we have a lot to get done, but I found my dress last week, so I'm feeling really good with our planning! We just sent invitations and so far we have 30 guests confirmed and about half our room block booked. We are expecting a total of 50-60 guests.

Question for past brides or upcoming weddings regarding menus..

cocktail reception - what menu did you select? We're looking at the Mexican Fiesta - anyone else book this?

dinner reception - what menu did you select? We're looking at the BBQ Deluxe - anyone else book this?

Appreciate any feedback/info on the menus would be greatly appreciated!!

. Congrats on finding your dress. Wish I could give you input on the food options but I went the pick and choose options for both my cocktail hour and reception. I had multiple horsd'oeuvres and 3 meal options for dinner

ooohh - what options did you select? how many guests did you have? I didn't see a pick and choose for the cocktail menu - what'd you have?

My only concern with Pick and choose options is the # of guests and that 1/3 have special dietary needs.  Quite frankly - I don't know if I want to manage the menu selections :)

. I had 114 guests. I chose to have a private reception in the ballroom. The pick and choose option was offered in the banquet kit. Can't remember everything but I hade seafood ceviche, chicken skewers grilled scallops and 2 or three other items

Hi all,

I am ~2 months away and still trying to finalize stuff, it's making me crazy! We have all of the important things (ceremony & reception locations, rooms paid for, etc.), but I'm literally 2 days away from having to pay in full and my WC still has not updated our final head count for the menu, added to the wedding builder site the items we've recently had quoted and approved, finalized our 'promotional event', etc. Have you ladies been down this close to the deadline??

Also, does anyone have more information on the Smore's on the beach event? Do they provide tables? I've asked for this event in combination with the Free Cocktail party I earned with booked rooms, which I'm hoping includes drinks and apps, has anyone done this before?

Thanks!

I panicked for my deadline as well but it came and went without an issue because it wasn't updated on time. Don't worry about it honestly. I made my final payment the day before my wedding at the resort.

I didn't have tables at my Smores party

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
