Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I was going to bring welcome gifts/favors down with me and was hoping to have them set in all of my guests rooms so when they got there they'd have a nice surprise waiting... but I'm wondering how that would work if we are all arriving at the same time? Has anyone done this before , would I have to mail them down there so they'd already be there before we arrived ?

It is never recommended to send things ahead of time shipped to the hotel. If you want a room drop, I believe the current charge is $4 per item/room... so it can get pricy, and often times there are mistakes made when doing so.

Most brides choose to do a welcome party and distribute them there.... or meet their guests in the lobby upon arrival.

This will be difficult to impossible!! The check in process was very weird. The resort doesn't have the guests rooms assigned until they arrive. When my guests arrived a great deal of them were upgraded to better rooms because the hotel was booked. So although most of my guests paid for standard rooms, they were moved to the premium section because that section is the last to book because it's so expensive.

The pier is still inoperable. They don't allow anyone on it during hurricane season anyway. I was just there two weeks ago and it was roped off.

any brides that recently had their wedding here know if the broken pier is fixed yet?

Thanks that's really helpful to know ! I will just bring them and distribute them on my own than!

Based on everyone's info I am going to end up just distributing them myself or have someone else hand them out at our welcome party. Even in the states I always find my friends stressing out Friday making sure all their guest get their welcome basket rather than greeting their guest and enjoying the beginning of their wedding weekend.

Blog is helpful as always.

Ohhhh I must go back and look! They must have done one recently for Sensatori!!! Love it!

Please note- that your from home photographer should look into getting a work visa to shoot your wedding. Most get away with working in Mexico shooting weddings like this without a problem- but others have has issues and the LAST place I would want to break the law would be Mexico and I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if anything happened! I had originally planned to have a from home photographer shoot our wedding but ended up going with a local- this was one of the reasons. Too risky. (Room and board is considered payment so just because cash isn't being exchanged they would still legally require a work visa)

I can appreciate your concern for bringing in a photographer from home. However, it happens on a daily basis especially down along the Mayan coast. I have never heard of any issues for the photographers.

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum. What an incredible resource we have here!!

I'm also wondering if there is an updated list of Feb 2015 brides that we have access to?

Thanks so much ladies!!

Kendra

Updated bridal roll call is on the Official thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/72018-official-azul-sensatori-thread/page-2

Hello! For those who have been to the Azul Senatori before, how did you get there from the Cancun airport? Thanks!

Check and see if the transfer is included in your package. If not, there are multiple companies to book with for transfers. (Lomas, American Transfers, etc.) You can look up Cancun transfers online. It is suggested to book your transfer ahead of time with a company rather than finding a taxi when you arrive.

Sorry ladies I was a bit occupied with my little one! I have updated the Bridal roll call!

I read on another thread that brides were having their check in wedding favors confiscated at the airport. anyone have that problem? I'm bringing tumblers and welcome bags and need to check them in because there's no way i can bring them all on as carry on

It is unlikely you will lose anything. Please read this thread for more info about the customs regulations: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/4239-customs-in-mexico-declaring-wedding-stuff/

did any past brides who had photographers fly in from their hometown have any problems? if yes any details on what the problems the photographers encountered?

We brought one with us from Toronto. No issues at all!

Hi to all! I hope my question is not been answered or asked in the past week but I have been out of country for 8 days on vacation and just getting back to the wedding planning.
Any brides that had their wedding or is going to have their ceremony on the skydeck, do you have your reception on the skydeck after or elsewhere?

Carrie

Ceremony and cocktail receptions only on the SkyDeck. You can find more info on the Official thread: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/topic/72018-official-azul-sensatori-thread/

Hi all ,

Just wondering if anyone has tried to negotiate any of the prices with your wedding coordinator group ? I just purchased a memorable moments ceremony package for our wedding in may , to the tune of 2900 which is fine because it's chock full of beautiful! But there are only 24 chairs, my group contains 88 people , I was thinking of getting white garden chairs for the extras , but they're 15.00 a chair ! I just think that's crazy my best friend just got married and had the same chairs and they were 4.75 a chair. I'm definitely a bargain hunter , is there anyone else out there that feels the same and if I should even bother trying to get a better deal?

Thanks !!!

Chairs for your ceremony (no matter how many guests) is included in your package. You just have to inform them of the number of guests- however this is for the plain white fold out chairs. (see the official thread for a photo).

As well, if you are hosting a private dinner, the white plain chairs will be offered free of cost. (my guess is that the chairs suggest for the 'glamor' package rather are the Chivas chairs, or have special chair covers on them)

What type of fabric is everyone having their bridesmaids wear for their dresses? I want my bridesmaids to wear all the same fabric but I do not want them to wear a fabric that does not breath and they end up not looking very good because they are drenched in sweat. What fabrics has everyone used especially for the brides that have had weddings on the sky deck?

-Carrie

My girls wore super simple sun dresses (cotton). But we also wanted a casual flair!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
