Also, past brides have posted pics of the room key holders they ordered for their guests and I remember it looking like just business size. Unfortunately, it is HIGHLY recommended you bring plenty of small bills. Between tipping the guy who drives you to AS and back to the airport, and tipping the cleaning lady, and hopefully a favorite bartender and the staff involved helping your BIG day turn out perfectly...let's just say it is better to bring it just in case....just my personal opinion.

thanks for the advice!  It's greatly appreciated!

I started a thread because the thing I found hardest to do was the wording for the save the dates, itineraries and invitation. When I searched online, it took forever for me to find the wording that suited me and my fiance. We are not formal, we are more casual, fun and sentimental. Just wanted to share what I have done so far. Hopefully it can help some of you...

ANYONE who has already booked. WE ARE in a bit of a panic. We are getting married april 20 2013 and just received our first quote for our trip from our TA. For an 8 day trip, she is quoting us at around 6000 dollars. I think that is SO high!! Is this really what it costs? we vacation in mexico every year and have never paid that much. I am panicking that no one will come if it is that high priced. Totally freaking out!! Need advice please!

Yeah, way too high.  Maybe they have you priced for the honeymoon suite or something like that. She is a Karisma GI consultant that's been in their top 10 for several years now so she'll get you a great group rate plus some perks like the TA mentioned a few posts up on this forum.  We got a free cocktail hour for our guests and chose a romantic dinner on the beach for us.

Oh wow, so it's right around the corner congrats!! I hope you have a beautiful day and can't wait to hear from you on your return =)

Thanks for the advice- I'm trying not to get too overwhelemed and not go overboard as you said. At the end of the day, everyone there is celebrating you two, so all that other stuff will not matter.

I just started planning mine in January and we only invited immediate family so I didn't do the STDs or even invitations.  I think my best advice would be to stick to your budget and don't go crazy over OOT items or expensive things that won't matter to you or your guests in the end.  ENJOY the planning and forget the drama (if there is any!).  I'm already starting to miss the research and planning stages as we're done and starting to pack.  I can't imagine how I'd feel if I'd been planning for a year or more like some of you.  So excited that it's finally here though!!

We're a few weeks after you and our guests were quoted $509 for three nights, and $152 for each additional night. That includes airport transfers. Does your cost include airfare? It was super high from Chicago the last few weeks because the prices just came out.

FI and I are also a premium suite and are paying $3,192 for 8 nights. Airfare will probably be about $1k, so yes, $6,000 is extremely high unless its for the honeymoon suite?

I considered DIYing my boarding pass STDs but was just too busy to take it on and opted for professional services instead.

If any ladies are looking for a vendor for boarding pass invites, here are is the suite I purchased. http://www.serendipitybeyonddesign.com/products-page/destination-save-the-date/tropical-boarding-pass-with-sleeve-save-the-date/

We tweaked a few things on the wording and logos since we did a combo STD/invitation, but used the same colors as pictured. I was really pleased with the quality. Ginger was very easy to work with and people have gone out of their way to tell me how much they liked them!

have you tried one of the TA's on BDW?  Barbara, Wendy and Teresa are all Karisma experts and have great relationships with the resort chain.

They are actually flying out next friday to take us to lunch.

Happy Monday ladies!!!

So after many months, I have FINALLY read through every single post in this thread from the very beginning! I feel like I should give myself a prize, haha cheesy.gif

Anyone thinking of doing a signature drink for your cocktail hour/reception? Any recipe suggestions?

I am doing a signature drink as escort cards. We haven't figured out our drink yet, but we will have fun experimenting. I know I want them to be purple and/or pink.

Our drinks will be set up on a table when the guests arrive. Each card on the straw will have the persons name and table number. Below is my inspiration picture. Once I actually set one up, I'll post a real picture...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
