(slight downer is the letter also says I have to pay the other 50% but hey ho!!)

woop woop!

now just shoes, veil and tiara to go! not much then!
SOOOO exciting! I ordered mine to be made in August, I have no idea when it will arrive, they said 8-9 months which freaked me out because I ordered it about 8-9 months before I need it.

we got our wedding rings sorted at the weekend...had a guy come round from a company that makes what you want (much cheaper) and more personal :o)

this is very similar to what mine will look like Ladies Nine Carat White Gold Diamond Set Wedding Ring - Beaverbrooks the Jewellers except unfortunately not as cheap as I'm not having white gold. it goes well with my engagement ring which is a solitare princess cut platinum ring (square diamond)

tip for anyone else with platinum engagement rings, you can get a palladium ring which is not softer or harder than platinum so you can wear the two together and palladium is much cheaper.
Ooo how pretty! It's funny, getting rings was the first thing FI and I did. I too got a platinum wedding band to match my engagement ring, it's PAINFUL how much it cost. I had to pick out the most expensive one too of course and fall in love. It was like my dress, I would have settled if I had stuck to my budget shots.gif both times...

Mine's not appropriate for the beach either and I am getting married in the sand! It's italian silk, ivory, massive poofy skirt, very fancy lol. I was the same as you though. I had this idea in my head of getting a very beachy dress, but they didn't look good on me. I'd post pics, but its being made for me, and is in the very early stages.

My original plan of having a breezy chiffon beachy dress died quickly as soon as I started trying them on and realized how terrible I looked in the dresses. Especially at the last shop when the "Randy" of the shop told me "don't do it girl you look like a little pregnant bride" LOL, no more!

So I ended up picking out a dress that I myself was suprised I grabbed. Even the chick that was helping me came over and was like "I'm suprised you picked this! He's my favorite designer"

So my dress is nothing like most of the dresses on here, mine is what I love and that's all that matters :) It's totally not appropriate for a beach wedding (thank goodness I'm not getting married on sand)

That makes me feel better! At least I'm the only one. Mine is form fitting and silk and I hope I don't sweat to death in it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
