Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi Nicole

Yes they suggested that we and 5 people go and not get married. So if we used that as our honeymoon we would have more of a party then a romantic time alone and we don't want that.

We already canceled the trip with them and are doing the wedding local now in order for my Aunt and my Grandmother to be there on our special day but the idea of loosing $3000.00 dollars is hard to swallow especially when we still planning a wedding here and could use that money!

We booked the wedding so far in advance that we never could have foreseen any of this happening and the fact that we purchased cancelation insurance and it didn't even matter just pisses us off even more.

I thought I would share my Azul Sensatori experience with everyone. So it was a really nice resort. I have been to several mexican resorts that were inclusive and some that were not. The food was good and endless drinks always make things better. Our guests liked it that there was lots of variety. I highly recommend the Sienna restaurant.

We were greeted with champagne and friendly service everywhere. Our on-sight wedding planner went above and beyond. We had a few last minute requests that were taken care of.

We requested a Grooms dinner the night before the wedding for all the guests (40 in total) they gave us a set menu that was really good. The only hitch to that is we didn't think about seating arrangement prior to the dinner. So all 40 of us walked in and it was kind of crazy. I would suggest thinking of seating arrangements ahead of time for events like that... at least have in mind that there are tables of 8 and where you and your parents may sit.

We got married on the sky deck which was amazing and worth the extra cash. we also opted to have a private reception at Zacolo and had the donkey cocktail hour. I highly recommend having a private reception. If you get the pearl package a pay for your private reception dinner vs. the included dinner in spoon. We used a resort DJ last minute and were very satisfied. But do get your requested play list to them early.

My only complaint was my cake... It didn't look like a professional did it. It was not at all as it was pictured from Lomas travel. The wedding planner also noticed its lack of perfection.

Well sorry for the extra long chat but I thought I would share my thoughts. Good luck to you all. And I hope this helps. I will try my best to upload some photos

Congrats! Thank you so much for sharing.

Wow!!! This makes me so excited, you totally had my wedding :)

I too am getting married on the Sky Deck, having the donkey cocktail hour & a private reception at Zocollo.

If you could upload some pictures or email them to me I'd be SO excited!! I have a few questions if you don't mind:

Which cake did you get? I asked for a cake as well, one of their options and now I'm kinda nervous...

Did you bring any decor for Zocollo? They told me I could bring whatever I wanted but I just don't know what will look best in there.

How windy is the Sky Deck and were you able to do a rehearsal there the evening before?

Thanks so much!!

27 desses, that really sucks about your situation. I am dealing with the Wedding Holiday too, but I don't have any suggestions. I think checking to see if there is another party there that week is a good option. I'm surprised the wedding holiday won't put that 3000 dollars aside and just keep it for a date when you can go. When I first decided to go with the wedding hoilday, they made it sound like they were super helpful and accomodating to changes or if there were problems, but I'm not sure that is the case....How have you found them aside from this incident?

Katie, are you sure that you can not be pregnant? That makes me very nervous! I am not pregnant, but it is a possibility in the near future and I would die if I couldn't get married because of that! Especially if I went there not knowing that was a rule! lol, that would not be cool haha

Hey ladies, forgot to mention one thing. The guy's I hired for hair and makeup were awesome. Fernando Fuentes at the Make Up Pros. They did my hair, my MOH, and mom's hair and makeup, and I think it was like 3-400 dollars total.

Car service people were great also. They built me a link for my website with all my info pre-filled and gave our guests a discount. Also we did a party bus into Play for 3 hours and it was only $350 US. Cancuntransfers.com

I would be glad to send you pics. my email address is chellmm5@hotmail.com

The cake was the round cake serving 30-40 ( round white with small flowers) there will be pics to show you if you email me.

It was windy on the skydeck.... but we had like hurricane winds. I had my hair done in the salon and she made sure I had enough hairspray. Just make sure the part in your hair with the side you will be standing on.

I didn't bring any decoration for the reception. I did make votive candle name place-cards instead of paying for votive candles. But they had really cool large blue blown glass candles that were at each table also. I also had a candy buffet. Everyone seemed to really enjoy that. Make sure to take pictures of how you want things to look. My only regret was not going up to the Zaccolo terrace prior to the reception. I would have fixed my candy buffet. So I didn't really bring any lanterns or anything. I wanted to but I didn't get it done. The lighting is nice and dim and trees and such are lit up in the background. They brought the flowers from the ceremony over so no need to go crazy with table settings.

For the cocktail hour... The donkey was true entertainment and a great photo-op moment. I only wish that there would have been chairs. They threw in 5 chairs but if i would have been smarter I would have had some of the guys move over the park benches for extra seating. We had our by the pool outside Zacolo, so for the ladies it got a little tiring with heels on the cement.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
