Amy,

I am so excited for you to have your shower this weekend. I did get a gifts for my mom and my MOH who threw my shower and wrote them sweet cards. You will have such a great time. Its fun to get new stuff, just finding a place for it is sometimes hard to do.
Enjoy!!

Depends on your # of people but you can get married easily for under $5,000 if you take the package and do not add anything more. Also, if you dont have BM or GM, then less flowers.

OMG Katie... this is totally something I would have done.... when I read this I immediately was like, "that's a brilliant idea! I should do this"

I think my budget is OVER perfect, I count every red cent, including any facials or health stuff I do for the wedding which I think shouldn't count.

It defiantly can get pricey but its all what you make of it. We are bringing out photographer too but when we sat down and looked at the cost verses having a wedding at home, it came out to be the same plus we have them for 4 days vs. to only one day for an AH wedding. Just be prepared to do research and lean as you go. Also make sure you stay on top of your WC and emails, you will want to have all of your documentation handy just in care you need it.
Its overwhelming at first but it gets better and the girls on the thread are awesome and will ease you mind if you have concerns.

haha I knew you'd like that!!

our budgets on a spreadsheet with loads of different tabs for different things and a summary tab at the front and the costings all on one page, with things like 'original price', 'actual price' (so we can work out how much we've saved by negotiating on things!) and what we've paid and what's outstanding, against how much we've saved and are due to save! it all looks very pretty :)

but I don't put everything on there...if I can pay for something straight out my pay, I try to not touch our wedding fund!

No, that's not make cake, but their cake turned out pretty well! I may add a tree to my cake now and use my orchids as flowers like they did especially since I have my bird cake toppers!!

Thanks for sharing that BTW, those photos are amazing, it makes me really excited to have my wedding there :)

So she did her cocktail hourish/reception outside of Spoon it looks like?

I wonder where she got those colorful lanterns, they are pretty cool!

Oh Amy, post the bird cake topper! I still dont know what I am going to top my cake (oops our cake) with.

So, today I changed my first dance song. I wanted to do "When you say Nothing at All" by Alison Krause but then someone kinda made fun of it and I started second guessing myself. So typical. Anyways, I decided it might be more fun to do "Is This Love" by Bob Marley.

So of course I emailed FI and asked what he thought and he said: "Yeah thats good. Or I'm cool with No Woman No Cry too. Whatever."

hahahahhah This is why I am marrying him! So funny!

Danie - Claudia is expensive ($3k for 5 hours, $4.5k for 8 hrs plus $500 vendor fee), but if you really want her, ask your TA to call Karisma and ask them to accommodate you. Also call your WC and her boss, and everyone else you can talk to. They might allow it. I got her on a error technicality for my May wedding - Tiff got approval from her boss. So, try try try!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
