My talk with Tiffany was ok. I asked her about the price difference between the lomas website and the spa menu and she told me its because not every lomas hotel has their own spa or something like that. Basically the resort can create their own pricing because it has an on-site spa. I did ask her about make up for my bridesmaids since that is not a price in the spa menu and she said she was going to check on that for me. I asked about what type of make up was used and she said all kinds ( pretty veg). I am half tempted to call my friend that work manages a MAC store in KC and have her help me pick out color and applying, etc... I do my friends make up here when we go out and stuff so I know I could do it, it just makes me nervous. I mean its my wedding day and what if i mess up. I will throw a fit!

Also, I think i am going to rent vases from the resort and then use my bride's maids bouquets as the flowers for the center pieces. Tiffany even told me I could bring my own rocks, or whatever I wanted to fill the bottom of the vases with and the on-site coordinator can help me make sure they are down before dinner. I remember some other girls using this idea for their center pieces and i think it will work out great.
Oh, and I am asking them to take the hanging corsages from the gazebo to our room after the ceremony. I figure I am paying for them and might as well enjoy them as long as possible.

All and all it was ok, just got to say on top of everything.

Also... I'm a bit of an emotional cryer... everytime I watch anything wedding on TV or movies, I just get so emotional and so many tears I am just so nervous about the potential mess I will be on my day. I'm going to need a structure balance of liquid energy.

LOL this reminds me, my MOH & I have been watching Bridezilla's together lately and have gotten some good lines to throw around on my wedding day that will crack us up.

If any of you are able to watch that show, it makes you feel much better about how you are as a bride, I can tell that none of you are that crazy!

Also, I would love to have ignorant bliss about how close my wedding is, I'm actually having nightmares, tossing and turning every night at this point. I'm too much of a worrier!

I feel like I'm the only one losing my marbles... say it ain't so!
I am the WORST cryer EVER! I don't know what the deal is, but I cry at everything!

Man, not having an office job really makes me behind on these posts! I am going to catch up real quick.

OK criers - here are some of the ideas I have googled:

1# Blink a few times and look into the light; this makes your pupils constrict and keep tears from falling.

2# Cross your eyes. This is also another way to prevent tears from forming.

3# Also, rolling your eyes works the same way.

Now, 2 and 3 might not be appropriate for wedding photos or even your hubbie might think you don't want to be there... blush2.gif

4# Yawn. Yawning helps to loosen the tight feeling in your throat that comes along with crying.

Again, probably not appropriate.

I am going to start this a month before I go:

Do visualization exercises. Lie down and close your eyes. Breathe deeply to relax. Visualize yourself staying strong in the middle of the sad or stressful situation. Study your tearless face. Do self-affirmations as you visualize. Say, "I will not cry" or, "I will stay strong" over and over until your subconscious believes it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
