My fiance got transferred to Boston 3 weeks ago so we'll be living apart for a few months, maybe even until the wedding. I am hoping that his bad influence (pizza and huge helpings) being gone will help get me into wedding shape. Funny, he said the same thing about me :) such a good match we are !!!

Congrats, seems like WW really works for you that's awesome. I tried it before but fell off the wagon. Do you do online or the live meetings?
I just did online... the whole taking time to drive to a meeting etc... was not my thing. The online tool helped me during the work weeks as I could access it at the office and it would keep me in check with all the office goodies, ensuring I was eating right and tracking it easily. I learned a lot from just that and the blogs.

I fell off the wagon too LOL! However I do better than I did. Wine is still my major downfall however! tee hee!!!

Hey past brides -

Anyone have any luck negotiating with Lomas onsite at the hotel? I want to do votives for our reception, but they are quoting me $3 each - seems ridiculous as I could buy them for 1/3 of the price. My WC told me she didn't have lunch negotiating with them, but that I might have a chance when I'm onsite. We leave in 3 weeks for our wedding, and while I'd rather not add another thing to lug down there, I don't feel like paying $150 to rent little votive candles! Grrr!

Any advice would be helpful!

Thanks!

Just the shoulders need to be shortened a bit and of course the length since I am merely 5'4" LOL!

welcome back Amy - loved all your status updates on FB - kept me amused for the week and sounded like you had a fantastic time!

I have no idea what all this P90 (??) stuff is about - it must be an American thing but I think I'm going to have to suffer the financial implications and rejoin the gym. I thought I'd be able to do ok on my own (go running and stuff) but it hasn't happened yet! I can't really afford the gym but for the sake of my wedding photos I think I'm going to have to...and am actually now really looking forward to getting back into it :o)

no idea why I felt the urge to share, but there you go!! lol

Hi there! I had no luck negotiating on site. My husband tried and tried. They new exactly what the off site coordinators had quoted me and they stuck to it. That was just my experience, hopefully it is different for you!

Thanks Katie! I did update FB a lot didn't I :)

Good for you, joining a gym is always my last resort too but it turns out that I work out better and more often with my DVD's (which is what P90X is). Having to drive and park and pay for parking is too much to fathom when comparing it to being able to stay in my living room and pop in a DVD. The downside of that is obviously doing it at home, once I'm at the gym I'm inspired, being at home is not as inspiring.

P90X is a program, telling you which DVD to do which day and comes with a whole meal plan and all that.

After being on a hiatius for about 2 months, being lazy, sick and on vaca, I'm back to the daily workout and I'm in so much pain... I've been limping for the last 2 day so I think I'll do some upper body stuff tonight :)

Good luck Katie!

How long do you recommend doing P90x or Insanity? Should I do one and then take a break and do the other? I know I will get tired of doing it if I do it for the next 9 months! Oh, Amy, I added you on facebook!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
