Anyone know?
In my opinion, you really only need two pieces of fabric. Here's a pic of my set up with two.

Katken (and all you other brides) do you think it would be reasonable to purchase your own fabric and bring it there ? Even to bring your own fabric to make bows? I really want bows on the chairs, and coloured fabric on the poles, but I find the cost just keeps going up and up and I'm trying to keep it down lol

Ladies, I agree on this whole pricing thing shots.gif. Honestly, hundreds of dollars for a damn bed sheet censored.gif? Crazy! I'm keeping everything really simple to try and avoid those costs. I know its my wedding, but I just can't justify spending that kind of money. It's one of the reasons I'm having a DW KWIM?
Hey Nikki! Im trying to do the same as you and keep things simple, but I dont know if I can! lol. What are you planning on doing for a set up if you want to avoid the ridiculous costs? I just want to get some ideas for myself.

Honestly, I was having so much fun with my BM's/family on the day of the wedding I would not have wanted to set this up by myself. I have no idea how you would do it without a ladder. Plus, there was a wedding before mine, so I would have had to stalk their's to know when I could set my things up. It just doesn't seem realistic.

If you brought the fabric down, you could probably pay them to set it up, I just don't know if it would be worth all of the hassle.

Good question Allisa! If anyone finds out the dimensions, let us know!

As for Logos/Monograms I've been trying to figure out what I want too. I just found someone elses I liked and sent it over to our Best Man with the changes I wanted and colors. So if you know a photoshop saavy friend that wants to help a bride you could always ask, a logo is pretty simple.
Pretty simple huh? I guess I need to work on my computer graphic skills! I have made it my goal to either figure out how to do it myself, or have someone else do my logo before the end of the weekend, or else it just isn't going to get done!

I have to catch up and tie up all loose ends for the wedding which is 1 month and a day away. OMG I have so much to do not to add that I am unpacking my new apartment, just moved in w/ the FI. I don't have a bouquet, BMs gifts, none of that.
Congrats on finishing the bar! You must feel like you are in a whirlwind, but I know it will all come together! I am arriving at AS the day after your wedding... I am sad to miss it, though I know you'll post pics... how long are you staying? shots.gif Tequila shot opportunity!

hey girls!

well...I come to you all once again (my god, I really don't know what I would do without you all here!!!)

Firstly....this is the dress I found that I tried on (in secret!!) and have fallen in love with... Alfred Angelo... Find the perfect Wedding Dress, Bridesmaid Dress, Prom Dress, Flower Girl Dress or Mother of the Bride Dress at Alfred Angelo.

only problem is when I sent the link to BDs and my mum saying I found this dress and want to try it on. - all the BDs loved it and all my mum said was just asked if it would be practical because of the size. (kinda burst my bubble in a major way with that statement) and suggested a 1940s style sleek dress instead.

my problem is that with my figure (curves lol) I can't pull off a sleek A-line dress, I need the big dress as I have a small waist, but big hips and bum!! do you all think I need to consider my mum's practical point of getting the dress to Mexico?? I know I'll be hot in it, but I also need it for a reception when I get back to the uk. Advice please. its driving me insane whether to go with what I want, or be more practical!!!!!!!!!

Also, strangely enough FH and I were discussing the fabrics for the gazebos over the weekend and were coming to the conclusion that $100 or $150 per sheet is just ridiculous and we'd probably be better off buying here and taking it with us - has anyone done this?? or did anyone go out in Cancun or Playa del Carmen and buy any bits there??

Thanking you all once again for your totally invaluable advice!!

And welcome to the new posters on here! it's the best place to be - we'd all have gone mad by now I think otherwise!!

Katie. x

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
