Wow where is the continuity with all this pricing!? I wouldn't accept the pricing, believe it or not everything can be negotiated. Don't settle ladies, they will bend if you're nice about it.

 

I hope everyone had a great weekend, I'm floating right now because I had the most fabulous day, I bought my dress! Met the designer, he bought me a pair of shoes for my wedding, any I wanted (I know!) and took my measurements to make a pattern to make my dress for me... so no alterations. Still reeling from this day! I'll post pix if you guys want once I get them from my MOH :)

OMG Kitten - how amazing!!! free shoes, a personally made dress....what more could you ask for?! and YES we definitely want pictures! ooo how exciting!!

I went and had my first little nose round wedding dresses on Friday and found a gorgeous dress but can't do anything yet - I'll have to wait for the 'official' outing with my mum, chief bridesmaid and bridesmaid and my FH mum in 2 weeks!! I need to get a wriggle on and get one ordered within a month!

Kittten, that is so cool! That what happens when you live in a great city.

 

I've got one to make you ladies laugh....I am getting married in less than 4 months and don't have a dress!!! I have shopped all over London and Chicago and just can't find the one! So, I'm off to New York this week, and then to Bal Harbour at the end of September. Nothing like waiting to the last minute!

 

Also, I need some help. I've probably searched over 20 hours online for a cupcake cake tower, cupcakes on bottom, little cake on top, in aqua blue/lime greens. If anyone stumbles on one, please let me know!

 

I got my first 2 RSVPs in the mail this weekend, so that was very cool, and people are starting to look at my website.

If I were you I'd buy a bottle of $2 wine and ship it down to Mexico, just to see if it makes it there. That would be more of an accurate test I think than just an empty box and you could see how many days it takes to get there. I'd love to hear back on your test because I did plan to ship champagne as well :)
I would also like to know if the box makes it to Mexico. Our Photogs are planning to ship equipment down to the resort.

Did you need the actual cake stand? or just a picture of the aqua blue and lime green cupcakes?

My travel agent/wc up here is Luxe Destinations out of Toronto and Lisa is my WC. She didn't even want to tell me the price they quoted for the flowers, and she went back to AS and told them they have to do much much better, as the prices were outrageous and unacceptable.... I'll keep you all posted as to what happens.

 

I have to say, I am a little upset that they are not more accommodating, even if my group is so small, and am fully prepared to fight for a different location when we get down there if I don't like what I see. I know they are still working out the kinks, but the changing stories are super frustrating! We had originally been planning on the Zalcolo Terrace -since January_ and I just found out they have a 40 person minimum two weeks ago!!!!

 

27dresses, I will PM you and see if I can get you that photo.

I am getting a bit sick of the run around as well. Here is what I got from Tiffany at Karisma today when I questioned some of the outrageous fees/quotes.

 

"The sheets of fabric that are $100 is white sheer fabric with no color to it. Unfortunately, I cannot work with any of these prices because it comes from LOMAS and not from Karisma Hotels. "

 

I think at this point the only thing I can do is ask to be put in touch with someone at Lomas. I just figured out that I am spending over $13,000 on a ceremony and reception at an All Inclusive resort. I am really good at math, but clearly I have lost my mind somewhere along the way!!!

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
