Were those your save the dates you sent out or your formal invites. I sent save the dates out last october 2008, but I also want to send out formal invites requesting an RSVP....I just wasn't sure if sending them out now would be too early, but I guess not if you did yours a year before your wedding. How many people do you have booked so far?

They were both save the dates and the formal invite. We had spoken to almost everyone that was invited previously about the wedding so we didn't want to send the save the dates and invite separately so we could save a little money on postage.
As for people actually booked....that is a different story! I think the only people that have booked for sure are myself and my FI and our photographer (and we booked her). We got RSVP's back from about 18 people but I don't think anyone has booked yet. I think it is for a mixture of reasons. They are worried about the swine flu, think they can save money and that they still have lots of time to book. Of corse we want them to be there but at this if it is just my FI and I that is fine with us. If I stress myself out about everyone else I will drive myself crazy!! LOL

Just plain white gold bands for both of us. We both decided to save a little money now we would get simple bands and then for our 5th year anniversary we would get each other a nicer one (though I like how simple mine is because my engagement ring has a lot going on with it).
I'm sure we will spend the money on other things for the wedding!

Yeah its nice to have a simple band if you have a fancy engagement ring. You are right that all that matters is you and your FI are there. the good thing about going away for a wedding is that you only end up with the really important people with you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
