Thanks so much! We started planning last summer, so I think that's why I kept adding more. I was pretty much finished planning by December, but I kept thinking of more and more.....it's def a lot more expensive that way, but it really was so worth it! Yes, the resort will let you bring pretty much anything and I brought them pics of how I wanted each thing set up and they did it perfectly. They did charge me a small $100 set-up fee, but with everything they set-up, it was fine with me so I didn't have to worry about it.
I can't wait to get our pro-pics and will share when I get them. I keep getting all of our guests pics and may post some of those as well. Glad I could help!

Ok, so I thought of a few more questions today for those of you who have recently been married.

1. Did you do a rehearsal with your bridal party? How did you coordinate that?

2. For table assignments, did you sit with guests or did they provide a "sweetheart" table for just the two of you?

3. Did any of you play a "video" and rent a projector/laptop? Did it work out ok?

4. For those that had the symbolic ceremony, did you bring a full script for the minister or did you leave it up to chance? Did you include readings, sand ceremony and were they cool with that?

Thanks so much for your help! I'm starting to stress over all of the last minute details.

Plus, I just had 11 guests cancel TODAY because of the swine flu. I just can't believe it. Trying to stay positive and focus on the day! shots.gif

Thanks!
We brought ours. I ended up buying 3 different types of holders and I kept changing my mind. I am getting ready to post a thread selling all of our leftover stuff including all 3 sets of table # stands. I'll probably get it posted by this weekend if you're interested.

Ok, so I thought of a few more questions today for those of you who have recently been married.

1. Did you do a rehearsal with your bridal party? How did you coordinate that?

We did not have a rehearsal. We had 6 people in our bridal party. The ceremony is very straightforward. The groomsmen were standing with Brad in the front. The 3 bridesmaids walked down individually and then my brother and I. I don't think they do a lot of rehearsals because it is so short and simple, but I'm sure if you wanted one, they would walk you through it.

2. For table assignments, did you sit with guests or did they provide a "sweetheart" table for just the two of you?

We sat with our guests. You could do either one and just let them know at your planning meeting.

3. Did any of you play a "video" and rent a projector/laptop? Did it work out ok?

Not sure about that one.

4. For those that had the symbolic ceremony, did you bring a full script for the minister or did you leave it up to chance? Did you include readings, sand ceremony and were they cool with that?

We did not bring anything. The minister talked to Brad a few minutes beforehand and she catered the ceremony towards us. It was very meaningful and nice. Just let the coordinators know what you'd like to do and I'm sure they are fine with it.

We brought our own table numbers. We used a photo holder and they weren't sturdy enough and continued to blow over. So I recommend using something with a sturdier base or photo frame.

1. We did do a rehearsal since we had 3 kids we thought it was best. It was not coordinated through the WC's, though. We had our wedding party meet on the beach an hour before the rehearsal dinner. Our DJ did all the work and told everyone what to do. I'm glad we did it!

2. We requested a sweetheart table because we didn't want our families to get their feelings hurt. After dinner we mingled to all the tables....in between all the dancing! lol

3. We didn't do this one...

4. We wrote our entire ceremony because I was afraid of what their minister might say. The one we had was great and after meeting her I know she would've done a fantastic job on her own as well. I was very impressed because she memorized our entire ceremony! We were shocked, but it was amazing!

Sorry...I missed these questions! That stinks to hear about the cancellations! It's crazy really.....I can't believe people are freaking out so bad over this! It just blows my mind!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
