Beachbride - thanks so much!! I have no idea how FI and I missed this...I wonder if they were recently added. We were about to go with family style but now Im thinking these are much better and more affordable! Good thing we havent told Tiffany our private dinner selections yet

Yoazul...I actually got the idea from past brides (thanks!!!)...they made a GREAT point...everyone will be eating & drinking so well all week long that the meal isn't really going to be all that important, and the cheap meal will taste just as good anyway! This way you can save the money and invest it in extras instead! We saved ourselves over $2000 so now we're going with a mariachi band and I might order it for extra time!

I too, was not told about the $12 meals because I was given the 2008 Event Banquet Forms. I found out about the $12 meals on this website and then got the information from Tiffany. I do have a question about the $12 meal. Tiffany told me that we were not able to mix and match the 2 menus. She said we had to have exactly what the $12 menu said but I hear that people are able to mix and match. Did someone get the okay from Tiffany about that? I might need to be emailing her, if so. There were certain things that I liked about both.

Also, did we ever hear if you need to pay first before you are guaranteed the location of your reception. Has anyone been guaranteed their location yet? I have emailed Tiffany, but am waiting to hear back.

Thanks for the input girls, it's really helping!
I am so confused, I would think the Plaza deck would be for the larger parties and vice versa. I was confirmed for the deck but would probably rather do Zocolo. I didn't realize that my party was too small for Zocolo....I guess I'll just wait til we get down there.

We picked one of the set menus and did not mix and match. Although we do have vegetarians that they can substitute for and it's the same price, which I thought was weird.

I just made my final payment and the Plaza deck was confirmed on the same day, it was "approved" through management.

Thank you Beachbride!! I was thinking if I have a party over 40 ppl, I would have to go for BBQ buffet, and it's great to see these group menu options :)

So pissed off right now!

We sent out invites in June with a travel date of may 16-23, then in August the travel company informed us it was now changed to May 17-24. Now after all deposits and many paid in full, dates are changed again to May 16-23. After people have made travel plans, booked sitters, booked off work!

So because of it we lost 10 people. (now only 42 attending)Our travel agent said i am lucky because the group traveling to Cuba in April was changed by 3 days, and the resort has no other openings for them to get married. Has anyone else experienced this?

Happened to me too we are now travelling on the Sunday 12th instead of the Saturday AND we arrive back from the resort at 2am Toronto time on Monday morning the 19th .... I wanted to cry ....we have a baby and the groom Grandmother coming with us (she is over 80) - also they sold out the original date of my wedding so I had to move it to the easter week. I am just trying to be Zen about it .... Good luck

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
