I've come to a conclusion, seems to me that things are improving and getting better everyday. It's nice to hear from brides who have come home from their weddings and had wonderful wedding experiences. I love how everyone is helping each other out, this is the best forum ever!

I have a question: Did anyone one get the Silver package? From what I found there is a photographer included, has anyone used this photographer? How did the photos turn out?

We're from Vancouver and want to get married June 2010 but have no idea what kind of price to expect for our guests to stay for a week. Does anyone near BC have a figure they can pass my way?

Thanks so much!

I still haven't figured out how to set up a counter and other cute things you all have :)
Welcome! I don't know about the photographer, but as far as the prices go, I'm from Calgary and I would expect the prices to be quite similar. I have an 'estimated' rate from Signature Vacations at this point of $1621 per person for a week for the package in the basic lead-in room category, plus taxes. Mind you, this rate is for November 2009, but I think June is low season too. Good luck and hope you join us!

Other things to start working on:

- Asking bridal party

- Shopping for a wedding dress

- Putting together a website if you're going to do it

- Looking for bridesmaid dresses

- Looking for groomsmen clothing

That's what I was working on about 9 months out from our wedding. Hope that helps!

I started an "Idea Book" right away...I just used a 3-ring binder and sectioned off all the big things, then started making notes, pasting in pictures of inspiration from magazines and the web, etc. I also keep a small notebook at my desk and in my purse in case something comes to me (or I grab a great idea off this forum!)...sometimes I'll be out of the house and hear a fantastic song I want to play at the wedding, so I now write it down anywhere I am. I bit of a fanatic, but it helps me sleep at night! wink.gif

Hi, My wedding is in 4 months and i heard good reviews about having the reception at "the plaza" the area in the middle of the resort. However they said they can't have the Barbeque delux there, so i have to pick menu items. Who is doing this and how are you doing this? Do you ask people what they want to have as a salad and main course now? what if i pick something and they can't have, it like an allergy or something. Or do i have the reception on the beach and pay for a dance floor cause i heard (or read) the sand was horrible.

Thanks Ladies

For any other ladies out there that are not doing a private reception...... what are you doing or where are you going after the dinner at spoons restaurant? I don't necessarily need something that is completely structured, as we're trying to keep things simple and just have a good time, but any ideas would help!

Three months to go for me now. I am getting my invitations, but is that all I can do still?? I just want to book everything already!! ha ha.

Have you guys read the latest on Trip Advisor? Ugh. My FI doesn't want me looking at it anymore, but I can't help it! I'm not worried about myself or my friends (free drinks suit us fine), just some of the older crowd. I hope no one gets stuck on the "family side" that looks onto construction rubble :|
When we were at the hotel in Nov the sand wasn't rocky, its just not the white fluffy sand you've probably pictured. Its a little bit more flat and hard-packed. Might actually be easier to walk on...

Hello ladies,

I am getting married on April 15th 2009. I have been reading some reviews of the resort and I am getting a bit nervous. I am pretty laid back but I want it to be a great experience for my guests too .... is there anyone else getting married that week

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
