Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Has anyone heard from the resort or your TA's on the progress of bringing Azul to 4-5 star quality? I don't know about any of you, but my guests (after reading Tripadvisor) are a little nervous; regardless of me telling them over and over that it is a new resort and to "expect some issues..."

Just curious if anyone has heard of improvements...

Since this is my first wedding and all... I was wondering if anyone could give me a little insist to the cost of all things. If you wouldn't mind telling me how much you paid for your Azul Sensatori wedding with how many people etc. or how much you expect to pay. I just booked my date and I'm wondering if my budget is at all close to the reality of how much it will cost.

I have no one else helping me financially except me and my FI so I want to make sure I don't go broke on my wedding!

Thanks so much!

My FI and I are also paying for everything. With are looking at about 50 people right now. We based our budget on 75 people this way if 75 ppl do not come...then we feel like we saved money ya know? For 75ppl and a private party we were looking at like 18,000. With 50 people it's like 14,000.
Also, we have a 10 people bridal party so the cost would be lower if we did not have that big of a party. We are paying for their hair and make up.
If you need anymore help, let me know. I have a budget sheet I can send you if you wanna give me your e-mail address.

We have 100 people and 2 private events - rehearsal dinner one night (petite buffet)- ceremony/cocktail hour/reception (3 course meal, dj) another night with a small wedding party. we budgeted 40k and it looks like things are adding to around 30k. definitely make sure you leave 10k for extras that slip in there! That is our plan!

there are many options to fit many budgets! i really believe you can create a wedding on any budget there. for example, you dont need a dj, you can plug in an ipod. do simple flowers instead of extravagant ones. choose a less expensive dining option or if you have 40 people or less, you can have a free dinner at Spoon.

hope this helps!

I'm a bad budgeter and don't really have an idea of how much ours is going to cst yet. My biggest issue is the dinner. I don't know which way to go with the menu! We're planning the private cocktail party then reception on the beach, but I need help with choosing the best menu. Ladies, have any of you decided how you're going with the menu and would you mind sharing?

I got the idea to leave the dessert off the menu and just have the cake for dessert, which I think is a good idea...

we are going with menu 2a or 3a. we are going to choose when we have a better idea of what money we have leftover in our budget. we are going to substitute one of the 2 apps with a simple salad.

We are doing the private cocktail party and the petite buffet for our reception, and also wanted to leave off the desserts since we will have the wedding cake. But then I feel like maybe we should keep them since we are paying for them either way... But again, it will be so much food! So in the end I think we will leave them off. This way we won't be wasting money on the cake.

for our wedding we had the private cocktail reception on the beach with white glove service. the canapes we ordered were totally not what we expected and i am pretty sure that our guests didn't love them all that much....i certainly didn't and i am not a picky eater. we also had a sit down 3 course with salad, 3 choices for main course and the tiramisu AND cake. everyone LOVED the tiramisu and i would highly recommend it. we ordered the cake for 20-30 people and more than 2/3 of it were left over!! my family took it back to the room, which i know is against the "rules", and took it to the farewell dinner the next evening at the Italian restaurant and they served it for them!!

If i could do it again I would skip the cocktail reception and add more appetizers to the actual dinner event....so guests can go there while pictures are being taken. You get to plan the time line of when courses are served....so just spread it out. I feel like the cocktail reception was a total waste of money...and so did my husband and my parents!!

We had our reception on the plaza in the middle of the resort and it is much more private than it sounds especially since it is dark outside. we had the absolute best dance party of our lives for our reception. the lighting they did was great and the music off our ipod and the bar tenders....it was perfect and everyone was dancing all night. nobody could walk the next day from either being hungover...sore legs and feet or both. I would not worry about your concern for not wanting to dance in the middle of the resort...it was not a problem for the 35 of us!
That's where we are planning on having ours, but I was worried it was too big for our group, we are having about the same number as you. Did you add the dance floor, or just use the cement? Congrats! And I loved looking at your pics, we are using Erick.

We originally budgeted around 15K but are going way over that, I don't even know for sure, but will soon!(I'm starting to do final planning) But this also includes my folks paying for our attendants and spouses for 3 nights, which is a BIG chunk. Now we are looking at over 20K for around 40 guests. And we are not doing anything extravagent on decor, I'm a less is more kind of girl.

Beachbride, My FI and I decided not to have a big wedding cake, but instead have a small heart cake (which comes with the package) this way we can still "cut the cake" and we will have our regular cake at our home party. We are having cake as part of our menu. We based our budget on dinner for 75 people so that is it is less....then it feels like we saved money. We are only at 50 people now. Here is the budget based on 75ppl and then where we are now:
Private Party-Dinner Based on 75 people and most expensive dinner out of the 3 chosen

Salad-16.00/pp $1,200.00 $672.00
Main Course ($29.50) $2,212.50 $1,257.90
Desert- ($10.00) $750.00 $420.00

We are trying to get teh circle in the middle of the resort as our reception area, but fabio said their is another wedding the same day and if they have more people, then they get to choose first, which I think is unfair, being we booked first. But hopefully, we will be able to have it their, and he said that if you do, you no longer need a dance floor.

okay...well hope this helped!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
