Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Question for everyone:

Ok for those getting married on the beach, what type of music are you having for your cermony? I thought about traditional, but then not sure since our wedding is non traditional so then I am thinking what about some nice Jack Johnson songs etc that kind of fit into the theme? What is everyone else doing?

Thanks!

My main concern is still where to have my reception! When Lenka14 wrote about the "meeting rooms" and the fact that you can have your party there until 1am instead of 11pm it really made me think. Does anyone know how much extra the meeting rooms/extra two hours cost? I never thought I'd have an indoor wedding at a resort, but we are big party-people and I can't imagine shutting down the good times at 11!

Thanks :)

Kelly
Hi Kelly,
I thought the same thing with the wedding shutting down at 11pm, however my FI and I discussed it, and we think what we are going to do is pre-book some vans to take anyone who wants to party more to Puerto Morelos for about 1115pm...there are some great little bars to have a great after-party in! Then anyone who doesn't want to go can hang out at the Mojito Bar or whatever. PM is only about a 10 minute drive from the resort. Then guests can grab a cab back whenever they want to bail. I'll see if we need to make reservations in town, but i doubt it by 1130pm! We're getting married on a Friday so there should be some places open late, I haven't dug that far into it yet.

I've got a short list of the ones I love for the ceremony...I'm thinking I'll use a few of them for processional, recessional, signing, etc. Just not sure which for what!

Love You Til the End - The Pogues
I'm Yours - Jason Mraz
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
You're So Cool (from True Romance) - Dan Head
Better Together - Jack Johnson
Wouldn't It Be Nice - Beach Boys

Thanks, are you going to do the one with words, or find instrumental versions of the songs?
I am thinking of doing Jack Johnson songs, Better togather is top choice although we might pick that for wedding song :) I figured I did not want traditional music for the cermony it's good to hear that someone else is not doing the norm as well!

I was struggling with which photographer. Had I known I could go outside the Karisma choices, it may have been worth the fee to me. But of the Karisma choices we liked Claudia photo. Just confirmed through Fabio's office 12/16. So I'd have to believe they are still being offered through Karisma. Our spreadsheet does not reflect an extra cost for them.

Thanks to Beecher2be for the wonderful review. Congratulations! and thanks so much for your perspective on the resort. Made me happy.

McBradley - Yes, would love to meet up for a drink at AS. We have so much to celebrate.

Congratulations to Mrs.Stephen(2be)! Hope you had a fabulous wedding and a great time in Mexico. Looking forward to hearing about it upon your return.

I'm not sure yet! I guess it depends on the songs I choose...I'm totally torn on what song to use when.

I'm using Claudia too. I was told that if I didn't pick one of the hotel's packages that we had to pay the $500 fee, but she's still approved. Doesn't make sense to me and I'm not sure what the deal is, but I'm just booking through her myself and I'll figure it out later. I don't like the packages the resort offers.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
