At the end of the day, I'm stuck. I've got more than 45 guests already booked for their trip to Sensatori with deposits down. I've also already ordered my invites. I don't know what else I can do besides remain positive and hope it's all fixed for all of our weddings.

I'm going to contact my TA, Berman Travel. If anyone has any other suggestions on how we can collectively make a difference by doing something professional and respectful (because I really feel like yelling at Karisma right now) please post your ideas.

I thought I posted something last night about this from my phone but it wasn't on here todayhuh.gif (operator error, I'm sure)

Anywho, I completely agree w/ you! The showers sound ridiculous, they'll have to reconstruct them.

I pm'd the bride from Trip Advisor and she asked for me to wait to contact Karisma until she hears something shortly from them. I feel so horrible for her sad.gif

I'm going to speak w/ my TA's early next week, but I think these concerns are way over Fabio and Tiffany's heads. I'm getting some emails and phone numbers for Executive Management. They do not want to upset 50+ brides, I'm sure!! What about if we sent something to Faith in the meantime??

Thoughts...

P.S.- We had looked at some other Resorts obviously before deciding on this one. And the Valentin (opened like a year or more ago) was a big consideration. If you look at the reviews on Trip Advisor from when they opened, the reviews are pretty similar. That doesn't make our situation now any better, but hopefully things will get better, before worse.

I feel sorry for that bride. A girl looks forward to her wedding day all of her life and to have a resort destroy her special day makes me angry.

I spoke to my TA a week ago about the bad reviews and we both agreed it might be better to switch resorts so that is what we did. I am going with the Valentin. I made this choice before i read the latest review and now I am more then happy I moved.

I figure why chance it and hope they will have the problems worked out. What do I benefit from waiting? If I wait to long then I could not switch resorts and it is not worth the hassle of stressing over the next couple of months hoping they will fix the problems.

My TA really worked with me and the price for the Valentin was the same as the Azul Sensatori so I did not loose out on anything by switching except a headache. :)

About the showers-

I read a few posts from different people on Trip Advisor saying that the showers do not flood the room if you

1. point the shower head a little towards the wall

2. open the door inward, rather than outward

3. pile towels on the floor in front of the shower

It's ridiculous that it takes that much effort, but perhaps it doesn't have to be a total disaster. If you were designing 400+ rooms, you'd think that you'd think of that.

Thanks JHarwood2Be, you are always so positive! I went back and read Jennrenn's trip advisor review and I'm just going to try and remember why we are going down there =] She was there the first week and still made the best of it, so that's what I'm going to do to. What a roller-coaster of emotions this week has been! I'm going to start focusing on all the fun things like the OOT bags. My mom found maracas and cute hand made mexican shot-glasses in Arizona, and I ordered my bags here Promotional tote bags custom sizes and styles from cheap totes

This is what they are going to look like, hopefully Click the image to open in full size.' alt='a>'>with a little lighter version of our monogram.

Anyway, happy thoughts everyone hug2.gif

Goodmorning brides! I emailed my TA who travels to all the El dorado resorts several times a year. She is actually on her way to mexico this morning. Here is my email to her and her response.

Hi Cheryl,I have been hearing horrible things about the azul sensatori from other brides online. Brown water in shower, horible smell, beach is awful, terrible service. The list goes on and on. Trip advisor reviews are a nightmare. many brides have transfered their weddings to other resorts becuase it is so bad. I hope you get a chance to see it while you are there and let us know. If it is that bad can we switch to another el dorado resort? Let me know when you get a chance.Thanksjaime

Hi Jaime. Before we look in to other options as of right now, let me take a look at the resort and get back to you. I actually have a bride and groom doing a resort site inspection this Saturday-Tuesday. They are having their wedding at Azul Sensatori in March and they already have 49 rooms booked with over 100 people coming. So I will definitely let you know what they think of the resort and their thoughts. I can definitely say that they will be very honest and expect the resort to be up to par by March, so if that is the case, you are just fine having a wedding in April. Here is an e-mail I just received a few minutes ago from a guest that we sent down to Azul Sensatori for 7 nights. They just came back today. "Hi Cheryl

Everything was great. We were treated very well. The resort was really nice. A few opening glitches but nothing too bad. The beach isnâ€t great for swimming – nicer at Azul beach. It is similar to the beach at the Seaside suites. But the staff, the rooms and the food were all terrific. We will pass along your name and info to friends who are interested in traveling to other Exotic hotels. Thank you and take care.

So it sounds as though the resort is beginning to get its act together. I will definitely let you know how things go on our visit and how things look, and then we can look at different options if you prefer. Oh, and another bride and groom that are having their wedding there in May went and visited the resort and said it was nice as well and they visited there on Dec. 5th. So it must be getting better every week, due to being opened longer and longer. Although, I completely understand you hesitation, but I do not have much to go on until I see the resort for myself and find out exactly what it going on. I will get back to you as soon as we return from our trip if not while we are there. I hope you have a nice weekend. I will talk to you soon. Sincerely,

:

I will keep you all posted on what her opinion is as soon as i hear anything.

Any ideas or tips would be great. Thanks.
We considered doing 2 back-to-back cocktail parties as well - on our site visit we found out that for cocktail parties chairs are not included. To us, 4 hours is a long time to not have seating options for our guests. I'm thinking we'll do a buffet, so we don't have to deal with seating assignments for 35 ppl. I'm hoping to customize something a little nicer than "BBQ Deluxe". Tiffany's last email to me was a little confusing - she said that we could have whatever food set up buffet style, but need to tell the onsite coordinators when we get there. When I find out more info, I'll be sure to share

Thanks for the new pics! They look great :-)

After the poor reviews on trip advisor this really lifts my spirits. I too asked my TA about the reviews and she just told us to be patient because there is bound to be a few glitches in the beginning. I am hoping that since we are getting married in 2010 that all these problems will be worked out by then.

OK, I'm so happy right now after seeing these photos! Girls, everything is going to be fine. Even if you're wedding is coming up soon. The place is just gorgeous. I think guests will forgive sulfer smelling water to be at a place that is this beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
