Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else freaking out about the reviews? I mean I am a very laid back bride but I was in tears last nite after I read some of the reviews on trip advisorsad.gif I know that alot of the problems are likely becuase the resort opened earlier than it should have. It sounds like construction clearly was behind schedule and maybe they should have just moved everyone to another resort instead of risking the bad reviews. I know that we have to accept that everything will not be perfect on our wedding days and there will allways be things that will happen that we can not control. so I try to not stress about the little things. I am however really concerned for my friends and family who are spending alot of time and money to be at our wedding. Im nervous to have them arrive to a resort that smells of sulfur and has a horrible beach. I am hoping: 1)these are all things that will be smoothed out 2)maybe the beach is not great becuase hurricane season just ended (Does anyone know if the other resorts beaches looked this way? Maybe the azul just has not had time to groom the beach. Expecially considering how everything else was not completed maybe this is something they just have not gotten to. Maybe they plan on having sand brought in to soften it up. Does anyone else have any input on this? We have stayed at several resorts that didnt seem to have a perfect beach but the pool area was so beautiful that we didnt seem to realize what we were missing. Does anyone have any input on the pool area? In the pictures it looks really bare- not alot of trees or landscaping.

I guess Im upset because the PR for the sensatori boasted they would have prestine soft white beaches that would be a dream for a beach wedding. (and I am getting married on the beach) Im wondering if maybe we should move our beach wedding to another azul resort? or maybe just wait and see. What is everyone else thinking?

Here are some pictures that were posted on the tripadvisor forum. I'm sure Keith appreciates his pics on message boards across the web. But we need to see some good pics and good food.
Hang in there girls, it will turn out ok!
Oh thank you for those pics. I suddenly feel much better. The resort looks beautiful. And the beach looks fine. I am not even going to worry about it anymore.smile03.gif

Jenny - thank you for the link to Keith's pics! I am sooooo relieved to see some beautiful beach pictures but at the same time so extremely confused!!! Some of Keith's beach pictures don't look like the beach that we saw what.gif Do you by chance have any info on when these pics were taken? I tried to find his post on Trip Advisor but couldn't.

It sounds from the Trip Advisor reviews that came from the same time when we were that they experienced the same type of beach as us. So maybe something happened when we were there (possibly a really bad storm before we got there washed up a ton of kelp and seaweed?) I am going to try to stay positive and hope that is the case!!!

Anyway, here are a few pics I took of the beach when we were there. Don't mean to freak you guys out with these. But if Keith was able to get a few good pics of the water, it sounds like they are able to manage the seaweed.

Thank you for posting Keith's pictures, that made me feel so much better. I can't tell you the images I had in my head after reading the site reviews and trip advisor reviews. I was so stressed last night I couldn't sleep, but my FI talked me out of it and said that no matter what it was all going to work out and we would be married (now I know why I love him so much!). I am going to email my TA and ask for some straight answers about the pools, jacuzzis and water smells, but I'm not going to change anything and still get married on the beach and be excited for everything. I'm hoping by February things will be worked out. I'm with lilmisssunshine though, I'm the most worried about my guests that are spending alot of money to be with us and I feel responsible for their stay. I'm so thankful for this forum and all you girls, it's nice to have a place to vent and listen to what others in the same position are thinking and feeling!

I like the idea of positive thinking and knowing that with time, things should get better. Thanks for all of the links, pics and reviews!

I might turn off my google reader for trip advisor until Jan. That way I won't see any of the negative reviews. :)

I originally had chosen Azul Beach Resort, but then found out that they have a limit on how many wedding guests you can have. They said no more than 50, and our guest list was growing so we had to switch!

I don't about you ladies, but I am still very concerned about the conditions of the resort. My wedding isn't until May, but I am still worried about them not getting their act together. I chose this resort because I figured that if my guests were going to pay money to come to our wedding, it should be an expereince of a lifetime with great beaches and service... Now, I am more concerned that they are going to be complaining about the resort even after the wedding is over!

Jenni- I am trying really hard to send good vibes to the resort, but I am slowly stressing out and mapping out a plan B as to whether it is even possible for me to change venues at this point...ugh!

Hi everyone! I think all of this worrying is a little premature.... especially for those who have weddings mid 2009. Trust me, I have had a few negative thoughts myself, but taking care of some of those issues may not be an overnight fix. For example, maybe they underestimated a few things and have to hire more staff, which definitely takes time, etc. It wouldn't be in the best interest of Karisma hotels to open a crappy hotel and risk their reputation, and I highly doubt that's their intention.

And for those getting married the end of this year and early next year, the hotel knows that if they have upset brides at their resort, it will negatively affect their business, so they will make sure that you are happy.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't vent, because this is definitely where we should vent and its a huge stress reliever, but I'm not loosing sleep over it just yet. Keep smiling ladies!!! It WILL get better!!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
