Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

I'm really confused about how these wedding packages work. My wedding is in April and I've just started corresponding w/ Nancy. Which is just basically me asking questions that don't get answered.

Is anyone else not having the legal ceremony there? We are getting married at the courthouse right before we go down, but from what I understand I still HAVE to buy a wedding package??

I want to have a ceremony and probably a private reception for about 40 guests. But I think it's a rip off that I'm having to pay for all the things I don't need (filing of paperwork, judge, etc. in those dumb base packages).

Sorry I'm ranting, I'm just getting frustrated with spending soooo much time trying to get answers from everyone (not just Karisma). Why can't they just be straight forward and answer questions!! They are in Miami, right? Not Mexico. girl_werewolf.gif

Okay I just wanted to say that I am so glad that everyone is posting their ideas online. I am less than two months from leaving for my wedding and because of the delay in the hotel opening, I haven't planned anything. I have been saving for over a year now for this wedding and have absolutely no idea if I have saved enough money to cover the costs. I want to have a beautiful reception and have tried to estimate what that might total, but I am also a Canadian and just in the last two weeks our dollar has dropped so much, my wedding just keeps getting more and more expensive.

I know that I am rambling on her I just wanted to encourage everyone to post anything they know from Karisma about the reception and costing, as there are a lot of people on here who are very much in the dark.

I am a super organized person and have been purchasing items for the wedding for a year now. I have color paper lanterns, seashells, tea lights, wedding favors, but still don't know where my location is.....

Anyway, thanks again for everyone who has taken the time to post their info on here. It has been SO helpful!

P.s. I went to a wedding at the Azul Beach and they used those flameless candles. Does anyone know if Karimsa will allow real candles?

If you have time please share some pics of your purchases. Would love to see them. Did you get approval to hang the lanterns?

And as far as the candles, did you like the flameless ones?

Is anyone doing OOT bags, and how are you delivering these to your guests. It says there is a $charge for deliveries to rooms, do you think this is per room? Otherwise, I'm thinking of having a "welcome" party instead of a rehearsal dinner and having them there for everyone.

Beecher2Be,

I am in the EXACT same position as you, and we are getting married only a few weeks apart! I've also been very nervous about our rapidly dropping dollar, as all of the prices in the 'private event kit' are quoted in US$$. It's basically going to mean an extra 20% for us on top of the costs (based on today's value at least). We are expecting 50 people, so I will have to host a private dinner.

I started to gather a few things myself, but feel stalled by the fact that the resort isn't open and I can't get many answers from Fabio. I can't really finalize my decorations until I know where I'm going to be having my reception!

I took some time off next month (November) and am hoping to nail down my details once the hotel is 'officially' opened by phoning Fabio and working everything out in one call. I'll keep you posted on anything I find out, and if you want to send me a private message please do so - we will figure this out together!

Could anyone confirm whether outside guests with day pass can they be part of the private dinner? It says on the contract with Azul that they can't participate in private events... ?

EDIT: I just looked it up, it's worded funny, but it really means you pay extra for the day pass but it does not include the food from private event dinner. So you pay for the guest again for their food.
OMG I can't believe I thought he was a she... oops my bad! But yeah keep me posted as to how you find him to work with.. so far he's ok but like I said before his answers are a little short and that could be cause my wedding is a year away too but, keep me posted...

Yes, I am going to work with a local flower designer to design centerpieces, and then I am planning on taking lots of detailed photos of the table set up to show Lomas. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed in hopes they can recreate it.

Hello everyone, I have been reading this thread for a few weeks and I am excited to say that we received our confirmation of our wedding date late last week for July 31, 2009. We had a tough time deciding between Azul Fives and Azul Sensatori and everyone's comments on this thread were extremely helpful in making our decision. Thanks to all!

I am doing OOT bag and just paying the $4 per room del. charge. I think there is something nice about your guest being welcomed immediatly. We are also having a private beach front welcome party that evening for everyone to meet at which time we plan to give a little speech also expressing out gratitude for everyones time and travel.

Our welcome bags turned out really good. I included a little note that welcomed everybody and had a little rundown of events. We also included a self addressed/stamped post card for each of our guests to writes us at the end of their stay. Once we arrive home I plan to have them nicely bound into what will act as our guest book.

I plan to take a pic of all our inserts and what have you to post at the end of the month for you all.

Question to all you brides.... where can I find a great photographer? I am looking to find one that is not to expensive, I looked up Elizabeth Medina and her packages are pricy.. Does anyone have a list as to which photographers Azul Sensatori actually allows? I know there are like 3 on their website that you can choose from, but I was hoping to check out some other work. If anyone knows anything please help me out! I am at a stand still right now sad.gifsmile124.gif

Thanks ladies!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
