It's crazy that we are getting conflicting answers. It's so frustrating. Gilberto (from Lomas Travel) is the one that told me about them not speaking English and Lomas is the one that contracts with the DJ's.

Ughhh! Don't know what to do

I have to agree with Jenny on this. Here is a post from a girl that got married at Azul Beach and the DJ didn't speak English.

The DJ situation is so frustrating. But I guess with a DW we have to make some sacrifices.

For the DJ we are toying with the idea of asking someone (not on the guest list) that we know to be the emcee and man the ipod. And then pay for their room and airfare to Azul. (It might equal out to about the same for the amount if you paid Lomas for the DJ) But it is hard to find someone that you are not offending b/c you aren't really inviting them to the wedding.

What do you think? Can you think of any other ideas?

Deals - Exclusive Discounts and Special Offers - DailyCandy

Daily Candy released Azul Sensatori's opening with 25% off if you book before November 7, 2008.

I am BUGGING as I put down SOOO much money to hold 38 rooms! And my friends are sending me this promotion, why would anyone book their rooms with my TA when they can get 25% offhuh.gif

Jenni
I couldn't find the prices when I clicked on the link. What were the restrictions?

The only good thing I've experienced w/ booking through a TA so far is the payment plan option. Otherwise I would probably never do it again....and our discount was like 5% rant.gif

Abby:
I'm getting ready to read your review, but about the DJ situation I would go for the Ipod. We are definitely thinking of going that route. You'll have the exact music you want when you want it and it will be so much more fun to have someone you know MC. My experiences w/ Dj's in Mexico is they like to play what they think is good music and don't "really" take requests.

they showed us the meeting facility. but it wasn't finished yet, really just a concrete room so we didn't take pictures, b/c you couldn't tell what it's going to look like.

Carolina did say that you can do private dinners in some of the restaurants, but it depends on the occupancy level of the hotel. she said that 60 days before the date of the private dinner they will make the call on whether or not you can do it in one of the restaurants. but when you look at weddings pics at azul beach, they use the restaurants

Like this one, this is one of the restaurants at Azul Beach called "Chill", and they used it as the reception area for this wedding

this is the another restaurant at Azul Beach called Blue, and they had their reception at the restaurant

hope this answers your question. let me know if you have any more

Mexicanbride, would this be the "Amplifier for Private Events" that is listed for $250 on the Lomas website? Category Music - List of products - Welcome, Guest Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya

As someone else suggested, we're probably going to pay to fly someone out as a "guest," and have them emcee the event (we don't feel right asking one of our real guests to emcee, and we want someone announcing the wedding party, first songs, cake cutting, etc.).

Our concern, however, was with the quality of the rental system. I've had a question out to Fabio asking about the specifications of the rental system for weeks (with reminders), but no response : ( I'm glad you asked and were told that the quality was the same -- but slightly concerned that different people seem to be saying different things!

yes it is hte "amplifier for private events" Gilberto assured us it is the same quality as the DJ. But I do understand it's hard to know what to believe with so many conflicting answers. I know there were some weddings at El Dorado Royale that used the ipod option. Since they both go through Lomas, I would recommend PM'ing one of the brides to see what they think about the quality.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
