Are you sure you mean "per night"huh.gif?

My TA was able to secure a group rate of $498 pp for jr jacuzzi ste for 3 nights (lowest rm category) and $528 pp for luxury jacuzzi ste (family section) for 3 nights (includes taxes and airport transfers). Yes it comes out to $166 pp/per night for a basic room. Rates do vary - depends on what time of year you are staying.

If anyone else has lower, please share!!!

if you look at it that way, my TA quoted $525 pp for 3 days - not a huge difference. that's for the weekend of may 15th.

i keep going back and forth on whether i think this is high or not sad.gif

at times i think it's a great deal and other times i know i can make it cheaper for my guests staying somewhere else.

for 4 days, the whole thing (airfare included) is $1160 pp so around $2300 per couple. what do you think is the "normal" amount for guests to spend on a destination wedding?

I don't think the 4 day rate of $1160 pp is bad at all if the airfare is from New York.....Most of my guests are staying 3 nights/4 days and the price we have including airfare from Dallas is $966 pp. That's only $200 more for your guests and the travel is so much further. The overall prices seem higher than this time last year, but due to the high cost of fuel everyone has increased fares. We also have Sun Country airlines, so that makes a big difference since they are typically less expensive that AA or Delta. I hope that helps!
We are using destinationweddings.com and they have promised we will get the lowest price out there. So far we have. Also, if you decide to accept their insurance it has a "lowest price guarantee", so even if our guests book now and the airfares drop between now and May they get the lower rate. I was impressed with that.

I don't think that $1160 per person is bad either. Just think if you had people coming from out of town into NY. They would pay for flight, transportation to and from hotel, and hotel too. (which can easily add up in NY) And then the prices for food, drinks and getting around NY would really add up too. So in then end, you are probably saving your guests money.

Mexican Bride... I rushed like crazy to get those save the dates out.... my wedding is in the middle of spring break so airfare is creeping up quickly. I did not send out reply cards I have spoken to people that notified me to say they wouldnt be able to make it... I have 3 friends getting married within a month from my date so they were an obvious no!

I did my save the date magnets through pioneercolor.com I thought they had the most unique magnets and would reccommend them to anyone... it only took 1 week to arrive!!!

Hi All.....

Wanted to share the news that we upgraded to the honeymoon sweet for the week makeing our wedding package free (you also have to have 15+ rooms booked from other guests) The price difference was about the same as the $2000 we would have spent on the silver wedding package.

I'm super pumped for that HUGE patio I have been seeing pictures of.

Happy weekend!!!!

why don't you have a civil ceremony in the states before you leave (just secretly go to city hall) and then have a religious/symbolic ceremony in mexico? no one will ever know! and therefore you won't have to get bloodtests!

Hello,

I am wondering if people looked at both Azul Beach and Azul Sensatori - and why they choose one over the other? Any suggestions? Also, what is the approximate cost of the wedding? Any pics to share of recent weddings? The place looks beautiful ... but still hard to tell from the website! Thanks for the suggestions! Have a good weekend.

Jen

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
