Welcome!!! I am pretty new as well. My TA highly recommended this resort so I changed my original plan going to Punta Cana to R.M. I am waiting for the grand opening and hopefully I'll get a chance to do a site visit.

So for everyone considering the Sky Deck - here is what I rec'd back from Nancy asking why the $1500 fee, and what else it inlcluded:

Please be advised that the sky wedding package is more of an experience rather than a wedding package, which is why it is sold in conjunction with a wedding package. ?I have provided you with the package inclusions below for your review. (she copied and pasted from the website, again)

Since they're not open yet, she wasn't able to explain to me any other ceremony sites. So I guess we'll have to wait until October.

Has anyone been able to find out the process of getting an outside photog? I keep getting the answer: "You will have to pay a $500 fee" - but nothing else.

How do you all communicating with Nancy/Fabio? Email or phone?

This is what he replied with:

Here's how it works, plain & simple:
1. If you select any of the photographer's listed on the following link Category Photography & Video - List of products - Welcome, Guest Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya you WILL NOT pay a $500 fee or require a 3 night stay at Azul.
2. If you DO NOT select a photographer from the website YOU WILL require a $500 fee OR a 3 night stay at Azul.
3. Any outside photographer OTHER THAN the listed in our website will be allowed for a $500 USD OR a 3 night stay at Azul (We have only banned "Del Sol Photography" from all our properties)

I then said I still don't understand where you are getting $500 or 3 night stay since it is not mentioned in the contract, the website or amenities page? He didn't reply back, but I don't care since I have it in writing and will be paying $500.

I encourage all brides to get their photography issues settled in writing. I don't understand why they make it so confusing and drawn out. I knew this going into choosing a Karisma resort and I have learned to pick my battles and back them up in writing fencing.gif I know that the end result of the wedding will be worth it.
Pepper-You may bring in any photographer except Del Sol for $500. They are the only ones "unapproved" by the resort. So you can book your photographer, but somehow get in writing from one of the coordinators in case the policy changes again before the wedding. See above in blue, that is what Fabio responded to me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
