I completely agree about food and music making the wedding. My fiancee and I were at a beautiful wedding for one of his co-workers recently. Everything was top notch but the DJ was HORRIBLE so hardly anyone danced and most people left early. I never thought it made a big difference until I went to that wedding.

There are a lot of unknowns which I think makes everyone nervous but my friend brought up a good point tonight when we were talking about it at dinner. There are going to be unknowns with any resort...you never know when management might change, or the WC changes, or policies change. It sounds like a lot of people are experiencing similar issues getting answers from the WCs at the other resorts too.

I'm seriously considering taking a trip down to the resort right after they open...I think it will be worth it to just set my mind at ease. I never imagined I would get so stressed out over my wedding...my face is breaking out like crazy!!!
I just sent Nancy a long email.... I asked her tons of questions about the DJ and I asked for their website and references. It's just so frustrating that we have to use their vendors and we're at their mercy. I am hoping they use the very best, but at least put my mind at ease and show me what you are offering me. But, the Lomas website does not really do that... Hopefully I'll get an answer soon.

So Nancy just wrote me back - but she didn't really answer any of my questions. Wondering if any of you ladies know the deal with the Sky Deck package. From Nancy's email, she said its just a ceremony location - not reception location, so why the huge fee?? Not sure if its worth paying $1500 to have a 20 min ceremony on the roof!

Nancy didn't specify - and its not on their site what are the other ceremony and reception venue options. Has anyone gotten that info?

Wow, I also agree that is a hefty fee for a ceremony. Hopefully you will find out more information. I doubt we'll truly know venue options until one of us does a site visit or gets married there!

Here is some info that I just received from Fabio, his answers are in blue. Hope you girls find this helpful.

1) Since we are not having a legal ceremony, just symbolic, could our Non-Denominational Minister perform the ceremony in English? Yes, All Symbolic ceremonies are performed in English. Yay friday.gif

2) Do we give the DJ our own song list and have him play music from there? Does the DJ use turn-tables or does he simply press stop and play on our IPod? Do you have an approved list of DJ's that we could see? The DJ will MC your event, which means that he'll control the flow of your reception based on your request, he'll play your Ipod music list as you requests. He do not have a list of DJ's but I can get you a song list as your wedding date approaches.

3) We would like to have Grey Goose Vodka during the reception. It doesn't look like you have this brand of Vodka available. Could we purchase it on our own and bring it in for the reception? No, we'll make a special request and we'll provide you the Gray Goose Vodka, per bottle charge will apply.

5) Is champagne included in the open bar for the wedding? No What type/brand of champagne do you have available? Please see our current champagne & Wine list attached. Prices and availability is subject to change without notice.

The wine list is attached...

How funny!! You live in Dallas too and are getting married there the day before we are. Thanks for inviting me into the Sensatori thread. It makes me feel better about this whole long distance/wedding planning. Can't wait to hear what everyone has to say through the next months ahead.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
