Hello ladies!

The WC that I was working with left the company and now working with another WC named Marco. Does anyone else have him as your coordinator and does he take weeks to respond to your emails? I never had this issue with my initial WC Paula. She was wonderful, easy to work with, and communicated very well with me.

PS thank you to all of the past brides for your amazing ideas from your weddings! Y'all have been a great deal of help and a breath of fresh air to know that I'm not alone with trying to plan a destination wedding!

I had Marco and fired him lol no really he was So unorganized and couldn't answer my questions. He took forever to respond and always talked in circles, it made me so nervous. I just switched by telling my travel agent, I've been assigned but haven't spoken to the new WC yet

. He's been responsive to me. Could be because my weeding is only a few weeks away. This week was the only time he took 48hrs to respond. Is everyone having a symbolic wedding?

I am having a symbolic wedding and I chose the Memorable moments package.

I'm sorry you had to go through that with Marco as well. I sent him an email after posting on here about my dissatisfaction in the service that he was providing me. He apologized, gave me his reasons for his actions, and said he will do better at communicating with me. As of late, he has been responding the same day or within a couple of days. I hope things get better for you! Let me know if I can help with anything!

Hi! I'm Jill. New to this forum. We are getting married on November 10th this year at Azul sensatori. My WC is Javier. I am a little frustrated that he reserved the wrong space for our reception and now we have to choose another because another reception has been booked at Zavas. I am going to dig around but wondering how Zocalo Al Fresco will be for 50 people? Javier is working on the seating arrangement now to accommodate our group there because I don't want to be on the beach. Looking forward to all your recommendations and experience!

Javier is also our WC - I've been pleased with his services, but I didn't expect immediate responses, so I'm okay with the an email about once a week. Everything we've requested has been booked properly in our wedding detail sheet - sorry you're having a few issues. 

 

We booked Zavas, but considered Zocalo Al Fresco as well, as I'm worried about rain and the very last thing I want is to be stuck in some ballroom in Mexico. Javier informed us that Zocalo is under renovations right now, scheduled to be completed later this summer. He also mentioned the restaurant has mid-dinner entertainment - so the servers and other entertainers walk around the restaurant and perform for the restaurant guests. He mentioned that only a short wall separated the restaurant guests from the private event guests. These factors led us to select an outside venue instead of the restaurant... he was pretty open about Zocalo, but we had a call to discuss as I wanted to make sure nothing was lost in translation via email...

 

Have you considered the pool deck? it's similar to Zavas and off the beach.

FYI - check your wedding planner sites regularly! I hadn't checked ours in a few weeks, because we haven't booked or reserved anything - I checked this week and saw some customized ceremony & reception decor added... we haven't booked anything for decor yet. 
 
I emailed Javier and he responded today and told me he removed them (still there right now, but I'll give him a day and then ask again). 
 
make sure what is on your planner is what you booked  hopefully the bride who picked these beautiful decor pieces has them on her planner too!

He missed our scheduled call and messed up the booking for a few of our events. I think we have resolved all of the scheduling things and I am sure it will all work out but it has been a little frustrating. 

 

We are also worried about the decorations. Originally I was planning to bring most of the decorative elements and pay the set up fee, but I can't really get a straight answer about what the fee is. Javier also said weeks ago he would send a price quote for the reception set up we wanted from Lomas and we haven't received it yet.

That is awesome that we will be there the same time! At least being connected on here maybe we can handle any issues we have. I spoke to Javier last week and I think we have cleared things up but very frustrating to say the least. He said someone in their office was in tinge hospital and it has caused a back log of work. We are going to use al Fresco for the reception and a bonus is we wouldn't need additional lighting. I think our decorations would be minimal. I have seen that people find it difficult to get a quote on set up fees as well. I've just been putting things in my wedding builder that I know we want so I can plan to save and not worry about traveling with much. What time is your ceremony on the 12th? We arrive on the 8th and ceremony is at 4pm Friday.

Hi! Very interesting about al Fresco. When we spoke he explained it as our area would be the full outside patio of the restaurant that the public wouldn't have access to. I figured that would be better than getting pushed to the ballroom too with no decorations. I guess we will see how the next few months go but I'm just going with the flow now so I don't stress myself out over things I can't control.

Let me know how that goes with using outside flowers. We're WAY in the future (Nov. 2018) but I'm a penny-pincher, so any savings would be helpful.
