Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

. Hi my wedding is two months away. I opted to use a local florists for all my flowers because the cost worked out way cheaper even with the outside vendor fee. The prices they were quoting me for center pieces were way more expensive than even here in NY. I am also bringing all y own decor down including the table cloths. Not sure what the set up fee will be.

thanks! who did you find as a local florist? has it been pretty easy to work with them to get what you envision? Good luck with your big day!

Also- I just found this in the original email from my WC, "Decor: Lomas Travel provides all of the wedding décor for Azul Hotels. If you would like to provide some personal décor you may do so, however all items are subject to a setup fee...No outside vendors are permitted for décor. " Were you able to get around this??

. No I was never told that I could not use an outside vendor. They told me that if I used an outside vendor that I would be charged a fee of $800. I am using Maya Floral. And yes the guys name is Marvin and he responds well and easy to work with

. They did advise that they are the only ones that can provide decor and that they don't allow outside vendors except photographers, make-up and hairstylist. If I have to go and get my flowers myself and bring them o the resort, I will because technically any decor I bring on my own is another vendors item. I just won't let the vendor come on site

Hello ladies!

The WC that I was working with left the company and now working with another WC named Marco. Does anyone else have him as your coordinator and does he take weeks to respond to your emails? I never had this issue with my initial WC Paula. She was wonderful, easy to work with, and communicated very well with me.

PS thank you to all of the past brides for your amazing ideas from your weddings! Y'all have been a great deal of help and a breath of fresh air to know that I'm not alone with trying to plan a destination wedding!

I'm now working with Marco as well. I also had Paula before. He responds to me usually same day.

Thank you! He takes weeks to respond to me and never answers any of my questions. I'm not sure what to do at this point because I'm not getting the same service from him as you are :( I miss Paula!

I am at the Sensatori right now and was married on March 7th, two days ago. I brought most of my own decor due to the ridiculous prices being charged by Lomas. We had two suitcases but it really wasn't that much stuff, just bulky. Table runners, chair bows, gazebo sheers, chinese lanterns, framed signs, candles, raffia fans for the ceremony and maracas for the reception. In the last 1.5 years of planning I had repeatedly heard $5 per person as a typical set up fee so for our group of 16, I assumed about $80 - $100 US for the setup. I couldn't believe it when they advised me just a few hours prior to my wedding that it would be $250 US. I tried to negotiate it down but they would not budge. Any other brides have this happen???

I didn't expect that the set up fee would be $5 per person. The resort only profits from weddings when it comes to items needed really which sucks for us brides. They defiantly should have give a price prior to the day of, that's ridiculous. How was your day overall?

Overall, we had an amazingly heartfelt day and a super fun reception with our friends and family. While everyone we dealt with at the resort was super nice, I feel that the onsite wedding department dropped the ball several times. We also feel like there were several attempts to take advantage of us monetarily. Luckily, we still had a great time so I am refusing to let these things tarnish the experience. I plan to write a full, in depth review once I get settled back in.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
