Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Here is the one I got:

We hope this email finds you well,

We would like to inform you about some non-authorized vendors that we have detected in our properties and the actions that we will be taking in relation to this matter.

We have received notifications from former brides about vendors who are having decoration up for sale. We have identified these non-authorized vendors  and we are also aware of the various social media platforms where they are advertising their services. We have completely recognized all the decoration items as well as the boxes or suitcases where such decoration is in. We have detected how they usually request our hotel guests to pick up such decorations off property in order to avoid being exposed. As a company, our policies do not allow any of these vendors as their business activities are irregular. In addition, these vendors are illegally selling products and avoiding governmental fees and taxes. The guest purchasing this items are as well incurring on braking the law.  For this reason, we must notify all our clients that we will charge an $800USD fee for such decoration (lanterns, signature stationaries, flowers, etc.) once we detect them in our properties. The fee will also apply in the case of makeup artists, photographers, or any other vendor that provides a service that has not been previously notified to us, and the hotel will also reserve the right to refuse admission.

Thank you for the bonds of trust we have built together and for choosing Azul Sensatori Hotel by Karisma for your Destination Wedding.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions or comments.

Although I think that their email was pretty intense and that it could have been worded in a much more professional way, but I do understand why they sent something. They are very clear about their approved vendors and their outside vendor fees, and Love & Lace is an outside vendor. It was great that people have been able to get away with it until now, but it really was only a matter of time until resorts started to catch on, especially when they see the exact same decorations week after week. I was thinking about going with Love & Lace, but I ended up being able to bring my own stuff for close to the same price, plus I can sell it when I get home to recoup some of the cost. Yeah its a lot of stuff to take on an airplane, but there is no risk that you will get caught cheating the system and end up paying a huge outside vendor fee. I dunno... I can see why everybody is frustrated because renting from Katy is more convenient than bringing your own stuff and cheaper than the resorts rentals, but from a business perspective I totally understand that they have policies in place for a reason and I don't think we can fault them for enforcing policies that we were all aware of.

I brought about 4 suitcases of my own decor and wedding items which on top of regular clothing and the wedding dress, was A LOT. I opted to rent key items that were more difficult to transfer via plane like the glass cylinder vases in varying sizes. Those would definitely have broken throughout transport on the plane and everything. I rented those plus paper lanterns (only because I needed like 40 plus and it was cheaper to buy and bring my own but opted for the convenience through her) and I rented several other items that were too difficult to transport. Also, cant bring sparklers on a plane so I purchased from her...although the resort wouldnt let us use them...so it in the end was a waste. Oh well.

The resort can do what they want, but in the end, their own coordinators knew and told us they were outrageous with what the charged for things. Maybe if they only put a small fee on top the typical cost of purchase to earn capital but not price gouge their brides would be more effective. In the end, I only received 3 cases from katy. But she did make a pretty penny off of me but the resort would have made triple that off of me...so you do what you have to.

Can anyone tell me where the sky deck is? I'm trying to map out our locations of everything for a welcome booklet but I can't figure out where the sky deck is on any maps.

I'm here right now and it is the top of building 3 which is the center building. Very central location

Where is everyone planning to have their reception??? I really wanted an indoor reception because it's going to be so hot in June but that carpeting in the grand ballroom is nothing to be desired....

My wedding was in June and we planned an outdoor reception. It rained and we had to change venues last minute. We ended up in the ballroom. I will be quick to say it is not ideal. They do the best they can but it's a standard conference room. That being said, in my opinion it was worth it!! The AC was wonderful. Guests were dancing and laughing and being crazy and exactly what I wanted. I wonder looking back, if it was outdoors like I planned if it would've been too hot for all that dancing?? Guess I'll never know. The point is sometimes function wins over fashion.

I agree. That's the dilemma I'm having right now. I've seen pictures where they've decorated the room but it's definitely not like other ballrooms I've seen. I am now debating between that and the Mexican restaurant that someone here suggested which would require minimal to no decorations, however, that's also an added $1000 expense. Do you have any pictures of your setup in the ballroom?

Here are 2 I can dig more if you want. Keep in mind I did not plan for the ball room. So the decorations I had for the tables were all still outside (and got ruined) when the rain came. So this is even more bare than it could be

I don't know how it works for The Mexican restaurant Do you get the whole place? Inside or outside? There isn't AC there either (if I remember correctly) just overhead fans. So if that's a consideration it might not be worth the 1000

Hello Ladies!

I am working on planning my August 2018 wedding. After a few life changes we are now considering a new resort. We are trying to decide between Azul Fives and Azul Sensatori. Can anyone tell me why they decided to go with Azul Sensatori as their resort? I am working on my research and all responses will be appreciated. :)

Did anyone have any issues with the number of offsite guests? When I did the room block, it was only for 20 rooms. And the rooms that were blocked were the standard jacuzzi rooms. I was told that each room has a max capacity of 3 guests per room even though they have double beds. On the site, it states that a minimum of 80% of the guests must be staying at the resort in order to host a wedding there. The rooms are all booked so my guests have had to stay elsewhere. Even though I've encouraged them to stay at the hotel, I can't FORCE them to stay there.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
