You can use candles. the wedding I went to there had floating candle centerpieces. I confirmed myself recently just to check.

Hi girls, I hope you are having a happy wedding planning weekend!

Does anyone know if we are allowed to use floating candles as centerpieces? I'm not sure if there are restrictions with lighting candles.

@carrieandsam - We gave people fake deadlines - in terms of "You Need to book by this date or else..." - We have been communicating to people via email (our STDs were emails - then we sent a follow up with our wedding website to book - then reminders).  Each email contained the deadline - which was 1 month before our actual deadline.  Our paper invites were a formality for the more traditional folks who we knew couldn't attend.  We are now just texting/emailing the last few (10) stragglers in case they want to book.  I'd suggest a full on email/text campaign saying you have to release your room block by X Day or they can't attend the wedding...

On our wedding website, we also had an RSVP form - and drove everyone there.  Once they RSVPed, they were driven to our TA's website to book.

Hope this helps!

Does anyone know about the music situation at the hotel?

We're interested in understanding if there's music at the private cocktail hours - or if we have to provide that - what about around the pools throughout the day?

We've got the amplifier rented for the private dinners we've secured - just wondering what is customary for private cocktail hours before private dinners...

Thanks in advance!!

Cocktail hours you must provide your music. You can rent speakers for $250 and provide your own music or there different live music options to choose from. Go to www.weddingsbylomas.com/planning for the music options.

I'm doing a mariachi band at our welcome party. I think someone has done one of the guitarist. Many choices.

As for the pool during the day I'm not sure if there is music, but it's not a necessity. If someone really wants to listen to music there are always phones, especially since wifi is free now. Most pole will take care of themselves for that.

Does anyone know the guest pass daily fee? I think for the wedding day it's free, but is there a daily charge for guests staying elsewhere?

Thanks

@@amyzig2 I believe it's $80 for adults and $40 for kids under 12.

Hello ladies... I want to make sure all my website info is correct and ready for my guest. My Save the Date went out this week. So, with that being said, is Lomas also the one who provide the transfer from the airport to the hotel? If so, who do your guest contact to give their travel info to in order to be picked up?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
