Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Did anyone have their reception at Plaza Zavas? We will have about 30-40 guests and I am worried that it may to big but would also just like to see more pics...the one they gave me was so small.  I get confused between all the locations as well..there are so many.

Any recommendations for or having the reception there? or for another location?

Also our flights get in at 5:50pm in Cancun.  I was thinking about trying to have my welcome dinner that night...but thinking I would have to book at 8:30 or later...by the time we get all settled in.  Did anyone try to do this the first night? Did they have time?

Thanks!!

I would not book anything for your arrival day. Let everyone settle in, plus you don't need the stress. We used our dinner as a brunch. That's another option, if you want to kick things off right away.

I'm agreeing with everyone else based on going to the bdr that booking an event the same night you arrive would add a lot of stress especially since you might not get to the resort until 730-8. I would just hangout and check out the resort the first night you are there

Awesome video ladies! Thanks for sharing :)

I have a logistics question on which someone will be able to advise...our ceremony is at 5pm on the Sky Deck. We then have our reception at 7pm in the ballroom (I'd hope we can move this time if needed). How do we fill the gap from the end of the ceremony to the beginning of the reception? We're a group of drinkers - so naturally, we'l like to do some type of cocktail. Any advice on if it's worth scheduling a 2 hour cocktail hour between the ceremony and reception or if it would be better to just have guests go to one of the bars for a quick drink or two before entering the ballroom for the reception?

Unfortunately, we've never been to the resort so are struggling to conceptualize how to move everyone/how to keep everyone entertained so that there is no downtime.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

We had our wedding (June 6, 2015) on the Sky Deck at 5pm and then used my 'free' dinner to have a one hour cocktail party on Zocalo Terrace ( not sure if that's the right name but it's the porch of the Mexican restaurant). We had planned to have the reception at Zavas Plaza but it had rained earlier and was very hot and humid. We moved the reception to the ballroom at 7pm and everyone was very happy to dance in air conditioning! Hope this helps.

Have any of you used a local vendor in Mexico to purchase or rent items from? I do not want to lug all these things with me from Chicago. I rather buy them or rent them in Mexico. Not planning on using Lomas for these items given the crazy prices. I'm looking for things like Mexican Candy, Maracas, Vintage Lanterns, Loteria Match boxes etc. I will be in Mexico a week before my wedding so I can pick these items up no problem. Also, if you rent things from an outside vendor do they still charge you an Outside Vendor Fee? Please Help!

Hi @@LRosario yes Katy owner of love and drum which you can search for her on Facebook rents just about everything you need. I'm not sure about Mexican candy. Just ask her.

Email is katy@loveandrum.com

She is great!!!

Also she puts the decor in a luggage so it looks like you brought it yourself. So no vendor fee

As for the Mexican candy Katy and her hubby live by 5th street playa deal Carmen and there are vendors there that have Mexican candy. May I ask what you are using he Mexican candy for?

@@Janjin I have two of these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00EV6EU96/ref=yo_ii_img

They are in the color ivory.

I actually didn't even use them, I just used what they had there. I will sell these to you for $20 for both? Lemme know!

These are the ones everyone was recommending are the right size.

Thanks for your offer @@atyson03 !  But I think I actually want white sheers.

Which ones did you use when you say you used what they had there?  Did you rent them from Lomas?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
