how do you tag people? I cant figure it out...   Anyways, by asking if the resort made it up to you, I just mean does the quality of the resort and pools make up for the lack of beach :)  I'm worried that those who haven't been to the ocean before will be disappointed....

@@StacyPaul.

You tag "@mention"

Yes, the beach is a downer and a big one, honestly the entire cancun area has one issue or the other with the beach, it gets better and much better south like Tulum. If you are a beach person like me then try to go south.

The resort is absolutely amazing! You have to do what works for both of you and even though you want your guests being happy, you can't just think "how to make them happy" because something will always be said. I used to be terrified about things that my guests would say about the beach or resort. Honestly, this resort is high-end and any guest who enjoys good resorts can understand that this type of resort offers great things for the price.

You will not be dissapointed, specially on your wedding day, if you want more of a beach or luxury take a few days alone with your hubby after the wedding.

it was a great experience to my entire group.

Yes, pools and restaurants (specially the food) will make up for it.

The beach is like any regular beach, it doesnt have crystal clear blue water but becuase it is so private I prefer to get married there (Not getting hitched next to people on beach chairs in bathing suits). There is a swim up bar at the hotel, people spent most of their time there. When my friend had her wedding there (same wedding I met my fiancee at) she had arranged a shuttle through the hotel to take people on a day tour of the Tulum Ruins which included some beach time there (gorgous beach!), we all paid a little out of pocket for the tour but it was worth it!

did your guests have any complaints about this? does the resort make up for it?  I'm so stressed about this and considering switching despite have paid a deposit already....  Thanks for the response :)

The beach is not stunning... there is some seaweed...but it is an ocean! :P That being said it is situated on an old coral reef, so it is quite shallow and rocky. But they have been trucking in nice white sand slowly to expand the beach. So it's quite a nice "beach", but the water is not great.

I believe the resort makes up for it. :)  The wedding staff on site is very professional and are great at their jobs...although the wedding coordinators you deal with ahead of time (in Miami) are very slow and it can be a bit frustrating.

The food and service is outstanding. It is a fantastic size for a wedding, small enough that you can find everyone, large enough to find a place for private time. WE love it there and have returned mulitple times!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
