Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Through the travel company we used, if we did a webinar on karisma we would get a one room upgrade. However, not every room would upgrade to something. Ex. If you booked ocean view it wouldn't upgrade from that. I wanted confirmation that we did get our upgrade and so when my TA got the confirmation email she sent it to me. I wanted to be able to provide the hotel documentation of the upgrade....however we were unexpectedly upgraded quite a bit and I have the email from the resort confirming it :)

Oh wow thats great!! Did you know you would be notified prior to the arrival day that you would be upgraded? I was under the impression that we wouldnt know until we got there.

I'm at the BDR this weekend and I was suppose to measure the sky gazebo for the brides that ask me too but I forgot my tape measure at home :( so if someone else is on tour this weekend can you please measure it for the brides if you remember your tape measure

Haha! Enjoy! Another option- can you ask the WC on your site tour? They may have it written down! Thanks!

Anyone doing a welcome reception/party? We are hosting one two nights before the wedding, as most people arrive. I was thinking of bringing in some live music then instead of during our 'cocktail hour'.

What are some of you doing? I want guests to meet each other and was trying to think of something fun :)

Thanks!

I'm on my second WC and she is just as bad, still waiting on email reply I sent her over a week ago. I hear all these other brides having good WC that respond back so quickly and neither of mine is like that.

if you want to change you have to call Miami to change but good luck with that because it took them 2-3 weeks before they assigned me my current one. wish I could have requested a specific WC (like Bridgette that was mentioned in the post earlier). good luck

I have Brigitte and shes been great so far! I usually get a response within a day and shes so nice. I would see if you can switch to her...

Ok girls- need some opinions!!

I am going to incorporate a mariachi band at my wedding but not sure where to "put it" to get the best wow/fun factor.

Options are

1) as soon as we kiss in our ceremony the mariachi band comes out and starts to play- and will be our recessional in essence as we lead our guests to the back of the sky deck and commence the cocktail reception taking place on the deck immediately following the ceremony. They would play for 45 minutes and then leave- and I would use iPod for remaining hour of the cocktail hour.

2) at our reception. They could be our entrance to the reception introducing us... They would be walking out along the path and we would follow- as a surprise to our guests (reception at zavaz plaza). They could then play for the first 45 minutes of the reception on the dance floor and I would delay having the DJ start until 7pm

3) have them close down our reception... As a bit of an "hora loca" and would be the last part of our reception.

4) don't use them the day of the wedding at all- but use them at our welcome s'mores party the night of arrival. (Though not all of our guests may be there to attend this)

Any and All feedback would be great guys!!!!

@@LaurenR

We booked a catamaran for our guests. It was actually a perk we got with our TA. Included up to $1200 food and bev credit. We have the catamaran for 4 hours and will be going snorkeling too. Thought this was a great way for everyone to meet each other and something fun to do as a group. Some people opted out, but we have about 30 going on the boat. It's through Lomas Travel, and they will come to the hotel to pick us all up and take back after the excursion.

I like your idea of doing a welcome party with live music. Ive also heard of some people doing a smores event on the beach!

@@LaurenR we are doing a welcome reception on 11.27. Thanksgiving night. We booked the mariachi band as well. Our wedding is the next day so we won't be partying too late but the sun goes down really early in November in Cancun so it will feel like we are in the swing of nightlife

Also some else asked about a dress code. It's in the karisma website and the Lomas weddings planning website

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
