Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

@@lolita2014, the free cocktail reception that they gave you, did that include any canapés or just alcohol?

I asked my WC about this and she claims the promo is only for new brides who have not booked their wedding yet and she would have to check with supervisor if I can get the specials. i don't think that's right and now she claims I might not get the $500 for going to bdr bc I already booked my wedding. I feel like she knows NOTHING and this is her job. so super frustrating

Do you have a TA???? These are types of things your TA can be stepping in and sorting out for you!!! Especially if they are GI certified! My TA told me straight up that I could copy her on all my correspondence during the planning process, or circle her in whenever things needed her help. As you know, the "head cheese" points out the fact that even if you've booked- the $500 for the BDR is given, right at the event during the EDR visit. For both the free events and the BDR credit you need to hit your minimum guest requirements, but once you hit that it should be automatic. If you have hit that with your room block- and it's not noted on your detail sheet- have it updated and your perks should activate.

As mentioned- I would really get your TA to work through some of this for you though!

sorry to be asking so many questions but getting answers from you is just quicker and you are so full of knowledge. I really appreciate it.

so did you already know the cocktail reception was complimentary and so was the canapé preset and the hotel picked those out for you or did you pick out the 5 different ones without realizing it was complimentary and then they just comp you at the end.

also was there only a max number of guests that was comp or they comp the all the guests?

@@kmk2016 I do have a ta and I just started to email her too bc the wc didn't know anything and told me to ask my TA (go figures). the TA didn't know if the canapés are covered or not and told me my WC should know. so that's why I figured I would get the answer faster from you guys (which I did!) who is the "head cheese" thank you for letting me know I'll get the $500 and the comp private events if I meet the minimum bc the wc was saying I won't and her answers are so wishy washy that I can't rely in her anymore.

I ask her to send me a detail sheet and she sends me one that is missing a lot of my itinerary that already arranged through her and when I asked her why those aren't on there she tells me bc she having email problems so that version is not updated. I'm thinking what does email have to do with sending me a correct version or not and why would you even send me a not updated version, how am I suppose to verify. I'm starting to think she didn't do anything we emailed about but she says it's all there she was just having "emailing problem" I'm just nervous my wedding is going to be messed up bc of this WC :(

Sounds like Lolita (admittedly) got more free than even she had expected (bonus!!) but every piece of literature I have read in leading up to the event states free events are for 40 people included and you pay over that. Remember the tip to use your 40 for all adults in your party and THEN add your kids as they are cheaper! I must say though, on my detail sheet I have a cocktail reception booked immediately following my ceremony on the sky deck and the price for 60 guests is showing as $0.00 as a default, though it's likely because I haven't chosen a package for that yet (I won't - and will leave it as a free event as soon as my room block loads. My invites only went out a week ago, so my block will look sad right now! Hahah.... Though I'm happy to note that 27 people have already RSVP'd and booked!

As for who gets the free events- that's something your GI certified TA may have a hand in- and may not be the same for everyone).... So don't quote me on that as I'm working with a GI TA and I don't know if yours is as well. You will meet the head cheese at the BDR... When do you go again (sorry I had forgotten you haven't been!).... A good idea is to write all these questions down and ask your WC directly when there,,,. And then simply email Miami and say "as per BDR I am...."

Your WC should be sending you a revised Detail Sheet attached to every conversation/ change she makes (at least mine does which is awesome!).... Whenever we add anything or I spot a mistake (they are human), I send a quick note- asking for the changes, and I get a new clean version of my detail sheet back. But don't worry... A Miami wedding coordinator is not going to "mess up" your wedding... They are really just a helper until you get to the resort. It's once you are there working with the actual onsite WC that the magic happens. Be kind, know what you want and how you envision it, bring lots of notes and questions and they WILL make it happen! I haven't read a post in this thread (and yes as part of my research I read it all), that hasn't confirmed that Miami makes it stressful but onsite gets it all to come together.

FAVOR: can you, when at the BDR measure the white gazebo on the sky deck for us brides? @@murmel doesn't have the true dimensions since the change on the official thread and it would be amazing if you can get the basic measurements (height, width, depth and any other useful ones) of the gazebo so that we can have the proper size from which to order fabric! I don't know why I didn't do this when I was down there last month! I thought it was already posted but it wasn't!!

my TA is GI certified. I'll have to ask the WC to give me detail sheet of everything we agree on from now on just to make sure she includes everything. you so lucky to have WC like that, I feel like pulling teeth to get any bit of information from her.

I will measure the sky gazebo when I go in a couple weeks. will they have tape measure or will I have to bring one?

I don't know if my WC is any different than any others, but I had read the reviews about the department and how frustrating it can be, and tips to make it less chaotic...so right from the start I set a tone of professional yet friendly and nice. I always organize my commitments and questions in numbered format so that's it's easy to decipher my requests. I then end with a giant THANK YOU, and ask for my updated sheet (If I make any decisions) for my files. I print the most recent copy and work off that. (Saving all back copies in an electronic folder).

You will need to bring your own a tape measure, at least I'm guessing! (We did) I did measuring on my off time- not during the guided site visit as it would be hard to stop the tour to do it then! I just went up there on my own on an afternoon where I saw there was no wedding. There is a sliding glass door but it's open!

Has anyone worked with Brigitte? I believe shes a new coordinator out of Miami. Just beginning my discussions with her, my TA has done most the initial work for us.

At what point were you sent the detail sheet?

Does anyone have recommendations on DJs? Not sure what my options are under the approved Lomas list. Did you have options? I definitely want someone who will help get the party started, I also would like to give a list of certain songs we would definitely like played.

Any pointers?

we are using Mega DJ from the approved 2 hotel DJ (the other is called DJ All Music) because he was cheaper by like $500. anyone have any input on how Mega DJ is?

I think any other DJ outside these two you will have to pay the $800 vendor fee.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
