Azul Sensatori Brides - POST HERE!

Recommended Posts

Hi all!!

this thread has been AMAZING during my planning process and I decided to finally post something and introduce myself :)

I am Amanda and my FI Mike and I are getting married at Azul Sensatori on June 26, 2015!

I am SO SO excited. We are doing our ceremony on the Beach at the Pier Gazebo.

We are planning on having a private reception, still trying to decide a location... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also I was curious if anyone knew what the food in the BBQ deluxe was like.

So excited to be part of this forum! :)

Hi Amanda! My fiance Christine and I (same sex) are getting married June 25th, 2015, day before!! :) We are having our reception at the Plaza Zavaz, I've heard this is the best location for receptions. You can find a lot of photos floating around the site. How many people are you expecting to come? As they book two wedding per day, I would lock in your locations ASAP to ensure you are getting your first choice. We tried to schedule June 26th and it was booked, so there definitely is already two weddings on your day.. same with mine... busy time!

Ah let me know after you get back how the food was and how the locations look and what not! I totally wish I could do that! Busy season at work is approaching, I am a chef for a catering company.

That is so cool you are the day before me!! I have heard the same thing about the Plaza Zavaz being the best too, I will probably email my coordinator right now and tell her thats where we want it haha! Sorry for taking the day you wanted :) We are expecting around 50 people, including me and my fiancé. How many people do you have?

I will for sure!!! I plan on being super detailed when I'm down there (like timing the walk from the "start" of the processional area to the "podium" for the ceremony so I can plan music etc.).. I also have my heart set on Plaza Zavaz for the reception, It looks soooo perfect! Thankfully I am so far away from my wedding date I hope to have first pick at all my locations when I am there in June (At least I hope so!) I had originally wanted to sky lounge for the ceremony but the recent changes to the decor and the feedback I have read that it's so windy have me now leaning toward the beach setting as well. I will make sure to take lots of notes (Or post while Im down there in case you all have a question you want answered). Im very particular about food (as Im sure you are too as a chef!), so Im really hoping it is good! I realize it's an All Inclusive resort so Im not expecting spectacular- but im hoping to be pleasantly surprised!! (Its the primary reason we chose Karisma!)

Perfect! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on everything down there and if I do have any specific questions I will be sure to tell you!! and yeah I know what you mean about it being in All-Inclusive, but at the same time you are right I hope it better than a regular resort, everyone has been raving about it, so I have high hopes!

@@kmk2016 I heard the food is spectacular! My travel agent said to bring a pair of stretchy pants bc the food is exceptional! I am going to the Bride's Dress Rehearsal May 15-18. I never thought of timing the music for the processional... such a good idea. I was wondering how many songs we should have. I read on this blog before that people had a song for the sand ceremony, the moms walking down the aisle, the bridesmaids, the processional and everything - total 6 songs.

@@LaurenR We are having our cocktail hour at the Papala Yoga. This was recommended to us by our onsite wedding coordinator Lynda (who has been awesome!). She said that when you have guests come to a destination wedding, they love the beachy feel.  Our Welcome Party is at Spoon the day before the wedding, the Ceremony is on the Beach, and our Cocktail Hour is at the Papala Yoga.

Sounds like we have our bases covered- you are going in May, I'm in June and I read somewhere else of another bride going in July! So between us we should be able to get questions answered- even if we forget to ask when we are there!!

The music is really important to me, and im not good enough at blending music to fade out songs between one and another- so Im hoping I can find a way to make the processional as LOONNNNNNNG as possible (HAHA Maybe I will start walking from the lobby!) We are planning on using songs that mean something to us (with lyrics) so cutting it off halfway through will seem odd I think! Hoping I can make it work- or come up with an unconventional route to the altar if necessary! (give all those hanging out at the pool something to look at HAHA)

I have 4 bridesmaids, but I want my sons (7 year identical twins) to go out with the men, but then walk back up the aisle to come get me and bring me to the altar... they will walk me down as it's my second wedding and my Dad got the honor last time.

@@kmk2016  I love that your sons are walking you down the aisle -- super cute!! What songs are you using? I have been struggling trying to decide. I want something beachy but beautiful.

My My Love by Joshua Radin is a must... but there are a couple others we love too. We want all the lyrics to mean something, and have something fun but still fitting for our recessional. We are probably not going to do the traditional "First dance" so the music at the ceremony is important! So hard to decide... I agree... and by the time we get married I will probably find another dozen songs I want to incorporate! HAHA

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
